Teething…

I don’t know if my LB is teething or not but he’s been so unsettled the last two days…. I’ve resorted to calpol as it seems to be the only thing to help! I feel awful for giving it to him two days on the trot but I’m at my wits end and just feel helpless, he seems in pain and has just cried non stop for about 40 mins. Tried boob, distractions, cuddles etc and nothing helps. Is anyone else going through the same thing? Feeling defeated today! 😭😩

Yep! My lb is definitely teething! Top two teeth as well 🤦🏼‍♀️ it’s been like this since around 12/13 weeks, he’s now 16 weeks! Nothing seems to help

Yep, exactly the same for us @Hannah My LB is 16 weeks today and the same he’s been irritated since week 13 but the last two days it has ramped up for sure! I’ve just spent 40 mins crying with him 😩 I hope you’re both ok xxx

I’d say today has by far been the worst day! Even struggling to get him down for a nap, but then again 6pm for us is witching hour 🤦🏼‍♀️ Trying to hang on in here! Hope you’re ok too!

@Hannah what a day. The grey weather doesn’t help either does it! Just about hanging on 😂🥴🥴 My partners doing bath time so I’m about to find peace in cooking dinner 🫠😂

@Laura lucky you my son won’t even let his dad bath him or do anything for him (he seems to cry constantly with his dad or anyone else for that matter!) so I don’t get the peace/ joy of cooking, unless I’ve got someone strapped to me! X

Same here, my usual happy, smiley baby has disappeared these last two days. Must be teeth, she’s super dribbley and only seems content when her hands in her mouth. I’ve resorted to calpol this afternoon too. Gonna pop to the chemist in the morning and see if there’s anything I can put on her gums.

@Zoe oh bless you. I’ve gone for a walk and left the baby with dad for 20 mins whilst I breathe and compose myself because this is HARD.

@Zoe mine has been exactly like this today 😩 I can’t feel anything in her gums yet though, my other daughter got her first teeth at 6 months so I’m telling myself it’s not teething yet. But who knows?! It’s been a battle to get her to feed and nap when she’s clearly exhausted 🙈

@Lauren uhhh it’s the fighting the naps that’s so hard because you know it’ll make them feel better but they just don’t want to know. Poor babies! I also can’t see or feel anything but who knows!!! Xx

@Laura it’s so difficult when you know what’s best for them and they just keep fighting! I think it’s part of the 4 month sleep regression too x

@Lauren I spoke to my health visitor about this, she said they can have shifting and movement in the gums before they start cutting teeth.

@Laura yep we’ve had the same with naps 😩 I’m not used to this, she’s usually such a happy baby 😂 There’s nothing else that seems to be wrong so must be teeth?

@Zoe yup I remember my eldest being in pain long before her teeth actually cut through, but her symptoms were always worst just before they cut. Anbesol and ibuprofen were always the best things for us but I think they can’t have anbesol until 5 months 😩

Hiya! Exactly same here little boy is 13 weeks old and has his bottom teeth cutting through, ashton and parsons teething powder has saved us! Honestly is natural so no pain killers in it… we used it with our first born so already knew about it, but our baby boy is teething so much earlier than our daughter did! They can have the powder from 3 months ! Hope that helps you guys xx

@Emily thank you! What’s the best way to give the powder. I tried last night and it was a shambles 😂😅

Honestly we tried it with the spoon and trying to put it on my daughter’s tongue when she was little and just didn’t work! Probs shouldn’t do it this way… but we wash my hands, empty the packet or how much they are allowed on the back of my hand and lick the dummy and then pop it in his month give it a little wiggle onto his gums… Probs shouldn’t but we did it with our daughter and now our son and works every time! Don’t know what I’d do without it now when they teeth!xx

@Emily you gotta do what you gotta do!!! I’ll give it a try! Thank you ❤️

No problem! ❤️ hope it helps your little boy, and you!!x
