Thickening baby food

Is there a way to thicken baby food without cereal? My son can't have it because he has digestive issues that we currently have an appointment to see a GI specialist for

I used to work in a retirement home they make this stuff called “simply thick” idk if it’s pediatric recommended as well but a lot of the items we had were also marketed towards children ask your dr. They make the “simply thick” in powder or a pump and depending on how thick you want or need you can add more.

i’ve used greek yogurt, chickpeas, peas, pumpkin, and avocado to thicken food i rarely use the rice cereal i bought. recently i’ve used this mixed nut butter to introduce allergens, but it all depends on your level of comfortability and what baby can tolerate. i find pumpkin is easier to kinda blend with foods and there’s so many cans of puree on the shelves you can just grab and whatever you have left over make cookies or protein balls with.

Yeah we tend to mix yoghurt into the breakfasts purées etc to make it thick

Or add baby pasta stars to dinner things
