First family holiday

Hi all were going on our first family holiday in December there will be 7 of us now we're already going to have to take 2 cars to the airport as all kids and suitcases won't fit (we have a 7 seater). But how many cases lol I was thinking about taking 4 large ones for a week long holiday. Kids can share 2 cases between 4 of them, me and baby, and hubby has his own with space for extra stuff?

Sounds about right to me! Bonus, if you pack diapers/baby food/formula to bring with you (depending on where you’re going, they may be MUCH more expensive at your destination than at home!), as you use up the diapers/food/formula, it free’s up space in your suitcase for souvenirs to bring home!

If it was me I would try and get away with as little luggage as possible lol. You’ve got to think of hand luggage too. You only get one per person. How old is the youngest? If he/she is under 2 they aren’t allowed hand luggage. X

@Alissa @Toni they range from 14 to what will be 12 months my daughter 11 has her own hand luggage as she's type 1 diabetic. But I'm trying to keep hand luggage to a minimum maybe like 1 bag for all tablets phones ect. My daughter is on full fat milk now so no formula is needed, but yes, deffo nappies and swim nappies.

It was only three of us but me and my husband shared a big suitcase then my son had a smaller one, the ones that are big enough for an adult for like a weekend. Then we had a rucksack for stuff we needed and my sons trunkie for toys ect. The trunkie was my hand luggage because he was under 2.

It was enough room for all his clothes and shoes, nappies, swim nappies and wetwipes. The plus extras like towels, suncreams ect x

@Toni yeah i would have shared with hubby but because we have 2 separate hotel rooms i don't think it would work 🤔

My husband and I share a case and our toddler has his own. The key is to outfit plan and don’t over pack; you can wear the same dress twice for dinner if only been on for a few hours etc. Each child take a hand luggage. Yours and your husbands hand luggage is also babies. You basically want to take as little as possible!!! And book a van to take you to the hotel!!

@Francesca yes I've planned all outfits but with 4 children and a baby 3 of which are 11 and older they've had to have a say on what they want to bring. Me and my partner will be in separate rooms as there's to many children for 1 room so us sharing isn't an option. I'm trying to keep it to max 4 large suitcases. And maybe 3 hand luggage we will also have a pushchair lol
