Anxiety and high blood pressure

Anyone else have high BP? I historically have borderline high blood pressure but no one cared before as I wasn't pregnant. I got admitted at 22 weeks because of a high reading (170/90) in MAU. I know I have white coat hypertension but obviously they needed to follow their protocol. I am now medicated and mostly my BP is just below where it needs to be. Sometimes I read high on the machine and then it's fine manually. I am going in for monitoring once or twice a week. I find myself stuck in an anxiety loop - anxiety makes my BP worse, but my anxiety is entirely focused on worrying that the BP is going to affect my baby's growth. I've stopped measuring it at home as I get obsessive about it, but then I worry about what it is doing in between appointments if I am not watching it. I just don't know how to manage it :( Hoping at my 28 week scan next week I get some reassurance. Anyone else experience this?

I had that for a long time. I started asking them to take my BP at the end of my appointments instead so I had time to relax and stop worrying about it

Hey hun, as if I could have wrote this! I am the exact same.. my experience was pretty horrific with my birth. Had an emergency c section and of course the anxiety caused my blood pressure to SHOOT up! They diagnosed me with “post partum pre clampsia” even though my bloood tests were normal but they couldn’t explain my high readings.. I kept telling the drs it was anxiety. After 9 days in hospital and 3 tablets a day I was discharged Guess what.. within 3 days I didn’t need any medications my BP regulated itself! So anxious for my next pregnancy as this will probably happen again You are not alone!

I have this too whenever I go to an appt my blood pressure is high and then it calms down after a couple readings She asked me to get a blood pressure machine at home and every time I do it at home it's perfectly fine but I already have health anxiety so now whenever I go to an appointment I dread having my blood pressure taken, but it's just anxiety this is my 3rd pregnancy never experienced it before.

Thanks everyone. It's good to know I am not alone!
