Newborn 👶🏽 Skin Peeling: Was I overdue?!

My baby’s skin is peeling like crazy. I heard it could be due to being overdue and their first layer of skin sheds in the womb. I then went back to the Flo app and I feel like I told my doctors my last Period was Dec 15 but when I look it shows first day of last P Nov 30-Dec 5. Wondering do you guys think i was over 40 weeks due to her skin peeling? I will say the due date they gave me was almost perfect but again I think I said the wrong date

For a difference of 2 weeks, they usually would use fetal measurements and correct if that off.

@Charlie yeah you’re right. I went to one doctor who gave me a 17th DD but the doctor I stayed with said 22nd. But yeah you’re right.

It’s totally normal for babies to have skin peeling. You can sorta make a determination on how close to your due date you were if she had much vernix (white stuff) on her when she was born. That wears off the closer to their due date usually. But honestly the ultrasound would be most accurate. And as long as she’s healthy then I wouldn’t worry about being overdue. BUT always ask your/her doctor if you have concerns.

My baby was 3 weeks early (I was induced with complications) so definitely not overdue. Her skin is peeling a lot as well and I've heard that very normal. I've been using baby lotion on her to try to minimize the peeling a bit.
