Sex after stitches

I got 9 stitches with my first son! It’s gonna hurt a bit when you first start out. Lube is your best friend. If stitches are still in absolutely not engage in sex till healed, 3 weeks is to early! You can really hurt yourself. But you know your body best. Tell your partner to take things slow and you communicate on pain etc.

1 I wouldn’t suggest sex until after your six week appointment and there they will tell you if it’s healed or not. 2 I think it would hurt regardless I had no rips or tears waited 9 weeks and it still hurt. 3 if your scared and not ready then you shouldn’t rush it take time to just enjoy your baby.

Did you drink raspberry leaf tea during the ending of your pregnancy ? I remember I was so scared of ripping during pregnancy and I was asking my fb friends how can I avoid it and one friend said she ripped 4 times during childbirth but the 5th time she drunk raspberry leaf tea she didn’t rip so I did some research and apparently raspberry leaf tea tightens you up and lubes your cervix from the inside making sure you give birth but don’t rip down there So I tried at 36 weeks drinking 3 times a day it induce labor around that time as well lol and I was 40 weeks when my water broke and I didn’t rip once he came right out ! Try that and maybe try sex when you’re fully healed and the stitches are out you don’t wanna risk infections.

We waited until I was ready because I was also really scared. 3 months later and lots of lube, didn’t hurt at all.

With my first me and my sons father had sex after 3-4weeks, I didn’t feel any pain but of course wait till you feel 100%!

@Pierrette yes I drank raspberry tea leaf with my second and didn’t tear as well. Also I do agree with other people you should wait until the dr says your good

I've had two episiotomies. First one was very painful to have sex (literally had to stop after a minute due to pain and this was after the 6 weeks healing period), there was alot of scar tissue. I went to a pelvic floor specialist which helped tremendously! I recommend! Lots of lube as well. It takes time for the body to heal and scar tissue can be so painful.

I would definitely wait until the stitches are out

Have u gone to ur Obgyn apt ?? Has she given u the clear? Wait as long as u can to have sex . It sounds like ur not doing it for u but more for ur partner

I tore upwards and waited 8 weeks and it hurt so bad ofc everyone’s experience is different

@Luz ofc my partner has been wanting, and so have I! i want too, i just stop myself because i do have that fear of it hurting! i have an appointment second week of october, ill wait till then!

@Dulce hope everything goes well 🫶🏼 having stitches is the worst . Deff prioritize ur healing before ur pleasure

@Pierrette I drank a lot of it and had a 3rd degree tear. RLT doesnt stop tearing.
