Eating during pregnancy

I just found out I'm pregnant and I have no appetite. I'm about 6 weeks and 3 days. I have not been eating as healthy as I did my 1st pregnancy. All I craved my first one was veggies and this one I don't crave or want anything so I've just been snacking on random things. Obviously it's not too late to start eating healthier and I plan on it. But opinions on "has the damage already been done" with not eating great for the first 6 weeks? Like can the baby be harmed from that? I typically eat relatively healthy it's mainly just been the last 3 weeks or so.

I’m not sure about the harm, but I can share that I’ve been the same way. Some days I want everything, but most days I want nothing. I eat really healthy and have a lot of dietary restrictions as it is (due to allergies), so I’m trying to just get anything in. I’m 6 weeks and 5 days, so we’re about the same time. I’ve legit had almost zero appetite 90% of the time.

@Chelsea same!!! I usually eat so healthy. But lately I just have no appetite and unfortunately the only things that have sounded good are like crackers, pickles, take out etc...

I’m 6 weeks 1 day and yes I have absolute no appetite I don’t feel hungry If I do I’m surviving on apples

I took a bunch of nightquil leading up to finding out about my first and the nurse I asked about them said it was fine it was too early to really cause any damage because the baby is so tiny. Idk if that’s still the consensus but she wasn’t worried when I asked her …. So I bet your lack of veggies is a much slighter risk of any damage!

@Kelsey I'm hoping that is true

7 weeks 3 days here and I am in the exact same boat. No appetite, but empty stomach makes me nauseous. On top of the constant weird taste in my mouth. I’ve always been a room temperature water drinker but now it makes me gag. I can only drink ice cold water.

@Romy-Lisa Daniel same for the ice water lol. It's all I can drink when pregnant!

I am going through the same with my second pregnancy. Currently 6 weeks and 2 days. I have no interest in food or snacks but I grab the snacks because of convenience.

Totally feel you, I had chicken nuggets for lunch today because it was literally the only thing I could stomach and sounded good 😅 And Baked Lays chips

I follow a prenatal nutritionist and she says that your body taps into your nutrient reserves to sustain baby at this point. So eat what you can, try and prioritize adding in protein when you can, but also have grace for yourself! The first tri especially is just tough!

@Tessa this is so good to hear! I've honestly been freaking out lol

She’s amazing and such a good follow for this season! @prenatalnutritionist is her handle
