Anyone experience their baby’s getting a hive/hives after trying new food?

My daughter will be 6 months on 10/12 and we were given the go ahead to start solids at 4-months. Didn’t really jump in until about 5 months. But very slowly. She tried mango a few weeks back and broke out in a few hives on her face and they went away within an hour or so. Today we tried apple for the first time and she broke out in one hive on her face. Doctor wanted me to give Benadryl but it started to go down so I held off (after asking pedi). Anyone else’s baby seem to be more sensitive yo foods?? Seemed like Apple would be an easy one.

It may not be an allergic reaction to food, I know red spots pop up on my girl all the time, and she's still on formula. I'm not sure what else it could be, but I've never heard of hives going away like that

I just started trying this allergen food introduction set called ready set food and yesterday introduced eggs and my son had some hives around his mouth / face but it went away within an hour as well.

Her hive / red botch went away after about an hour. No other symptoms.

@Joanne at what age are you starting eggs? I was wondering when that time is.

He's 5 months old! The allergen introduction started with milk and it gets mixed in with breastmilk (It's powder) and day 3-4 is milk + egg. Day 5-6 is milk+egg+peanuts so it slowly builds on top of what you introduce them to. We also introduced some apple puree separately!

Haven’t with this little one but she’s only had a couple little things. My first was allergic to eggs for about 18 months. Each time she had them she ended up with splotches. The doctor told us to try every 6 months and eventually she didn’t have a reaction

Fruits are acidic and can often cause irritation near the mouth and neck. My baby girl sometimes gets bumps on her face after eating fruit
