Just a rant ... I'm fed up

So ... my 8 month old eats anything, can feed herself and is super independent. Also she's got crazy cute hair (that is a nightmare to manage as it reaches almost in her mouth). I go out with people and it's easy to feed her and I get compliments ... but than when it's and opportunity for her to explore a new taste a new texture or she just wants to try something safe i'm eating(sugar and salt free) people roll their eyes for the fact that I allow her to discover how to eat it. yes it means she's gonna chew on melon peel, she's gonna try stuff that either she can't bite either doesn't taste nice, but also she's gonna find yummy and fun food, and most important she has a chance to imitate mummy which she loves. Than the hair issue ... yes we get compliments ... but also we get weird bad looks because ... it's likely her hair is gonna be longer than the average 2 year old and looks like it's a competition on who's hair is longer. i'm fed up!!! really!!! nobody chooses how long a baby's hair is, why can't people get a life and stop being weird for stuff completely out of anyone's control. also i allowed my lo to explore food as play and yeah she loves it, why every person has to judge our eating style and has to check if it fits their routines? i don't get it ....

just give them a weird look back lmao. the weirdest one you can muster

I feel you on the food thing!! We also let our little guy explore food and yea. Sometimes, that means it's messy, and sometimes it means he's chomping on a whole lemon wedge, rind and all. The looks and comments I've gotten, especially from family members is ridiculous. But then we took him to a tapas restaurant and we got so many compliments because he was trying everything, including the squid. It pays off and people shut up real quick when your kid is an adventurous eater as they get older

Sounds like you’re doing a great job and she’s a happy baby. Ignore the haters ❤️

As a woman and a mother, we can’t do anything right to the general public. So at this point I ignore it and keep on keepin on, it’s tough sometimes, but it’s a never ending battle so I’ve learned not to engage it.

Love it and just filter bab, honestly be content that your existence gives them purpose however misguided it may be! For the record my youngest has bitten into unpeeled oranges and chewed watermelon skin and spat it out unapologetically. Food should be fun even some adults will agree🤣

Pppprrreeeeeaaaacccchhhhh mama!!!
