we're waiting until 6 months and signs of readiness, as is generally recommended. we're going to skip purees and go straight for BLW. I'm so stoked because she'll hopefully be ready to eat by Thanksgiving!

I’ve started purées at 4 months exactly so we’re just about a month in. Baby is doing great. I get the organic gerber value pack from Sam’s club. It has apples, bananas, peas, and carrots

I started giving him little tastes when he seemed interested in foods. (He is 4months old) I started with letting him taste sweet potatoes(not baby food) and he loved it. He gets little tastes every couple days, so we can keep track of what he has eaten incase something hurts his stomach, we aren’t scrambling trying to figure it out.. we can track it by knowing he only ate one food a couple of days ago… if that makes sense??

i started puree at 3 months due to acid reflux, my son tries what im eating only if he shows signs he wants to try 🩵 ( im a plain person so nothing spicy or sauces etc) hes 4 months now though, puree and rice cereal he loves it mixed and warmed for a few seconds in the microwave

So far he’s had cornmeal porridge , I make it really thin or add it to his milk so he’s full longer. organic bananas, yellow kiwi, blueberries and carrot. I also bought him some purple Japanese sweet potato and some regular sweet potato I plan on making for him this week. So far so good, we try most fruit in one of those pacifiers with the holes so he can chew it up and the cold helps with his teething gums so it’s like 2 birds one rock

@Sage I haven’t tried the pacifier yet and was wanting to start soon. Which fruits have you tried ?

I have tried puree! I got the baby bullet and make my own. We have only tried peas so far because I made wayyy too much lol. Don’t worry, I kept it frozen until ready to use. But I would try puree now if baby seems interested. My doctor said it was okay but I started before she said okay. Then at appointment I told her and she sounded excited and said to keep going. I blended breast milk and frozen peas. I am doing green beans next. Then avacado. Anything green really. Then onto the good stuff like butternut squash and carrots !

@Nai Yes, I love the pacifier, we put frozen breast milk in there and banana, yellow kiwi, frozen blueberries and avocado. I bought some rambutan this weekend to give it to him in there too since the skin won’t go through so he can just chew it and get the juice. I highly recommend it, the one I have is rubys nest. It comes with different sizes and the freezer tray

So I haven’t started my baby yet but her doctor said she can start at 5 months which is 10 days away 😅 The doctor said I could start her on rice cereal so we’ll be doing that pretty soon!

We're waiting until 6 months, and he shows signs of being ready. We've started at 6 months with our other 3 kids as well.

My pediatrician gave me the green light to start at our 4 month checkup (as long as my daughter was showing signs of readiness). She said to start with exclusively baby oatmeal because it's easy to digest. I was instructed not to use it as a meal replacement, just to give her a little bit at a time to practice.
