I’m struggling with meal ideas😩

I’ve just started with BLW and yes I’m a bit delayed with it but I was terrified of her choking however I’ve been giving her some toast/banana pancakes in the morning to see how she gets on and she’s totally fine so I’ve started her on big girl meals as I call it, her first proper meal was cheesy beans on toast and she smashed that so I feel more confident now and I’m not gonna hold her back for the sake of me stressing!🤣 Please don’t judge me as I did it the old fashioned way with purées first!🥰 But has anyone got some yummy meal ideas I could try with her please? I’m not very adventurous I’m afraid, I’m not even adventurous with my own foods unfortunately but really want to get into the habit of cooking often for the sake of her health! So anything that your bubba absolutely loves please share with me!! A mumma struggling here!🤣 xx

Totally understandable I was like that with my first! And I’ve had a few scares with my second so totally normal ❤️ Soft carrot sticks, broccoli, toast strips, omelet strips, pasta, yogurt dough pizza I have a cook book called what mummy makes, really good 👍 xxx

@Kimberley it’s a tough one isn’t it! I so wanted to start her at 6 months but it just terrified me and my friend had a scare where hers choked on a strawberry and had to go to A&E scared me even more! But now I know she’s quite confident with her chewing etc I’m now happy to start it!🥰 Thank you so much! I’ll definitely look into that, anything that’ll help me with some ideas❤️ How does your bubba get on with pasta? Is there a certain type you buy? Or is just simple penne pasta okay? xx

I started off with fusilli because I liked that it picked up the sauce and she was having some veg lol 😂 she had some penne tonight and loved it! I’ve made orzo before too Porridge fingers are a hit also, that’s in the recipe book I recommend :) It’s so tough, my first hardly choked on anything because I was so vigilant, now I’m a bit more relaxed I’ve had to back slap stuff out of my second, she isn’t into purée it either so it’s straight into finger food, but she is very confident now she has a bit more teeth! It gets better :) xxx

I second the book what mummy makes! We love the curries and chilli from it and they’re good starting points if you’re nervous of choking. So many great recipes for the whole family too so no cooking multiple dinners 😊 x

this is a simple snack/ lunch or side that i made today and it was so tasty. They are courgette bites Grate courgette and put into a bowl with 2 eggs and some grated cheese. Then blend up a crust of bread and add in. Mix together and add any herbs u like. shape into balls and put in air fryer or for 20 mins or until brown. i did 180 for 20 ish mins in air fryer x
