You can text your midwife? Different county’s must offer different services. I can only write questions/queries on my badger app that will only be discussed on my midwife appointments. I feel I’m missing out a little! Hope they respond soon for you :)

I don't have a direct contact number to my community midwife, as above it's not something that's available in all areas. I think it's likely your midwife could be on leave, on nights, or otherwise not immediately available, and may be so overrun with text messages she doesn't go back through historical ones, only the ones that come through when she's working.

My midwife has always said I can text whenever but if it’s outside of her working hours or not a day she is working she won’t reply until her normal hours - if it’s urgent then it’s best to call the district midwives main line or the hospital. Midwives shouldn’t be expect to work outside of their normal hours but I do suppose it would also be nice if they had an auto message reply saying they’re out of office or when to expect a reply.

I must have landed on my feet hospital-wise when we moved! I have an app for appointments, results etc and I can write a message on there that will be replied to by a midwife (mine if she's on duty) within 48 hours usually. I also have a number I can text/call for my mental health midwife who replies when she's on duty...but usually within a day or 2 unless she's on leave, sick etc

In my area, I don’t have a way to contact directly my midwife. I would ring the MDAU or Triage if urgent. Or the antenatal clinic if it’s regarding to your appointments.

I can call the unit or email but not text. Email I was told couple take 2 or 3 days so now urgent requests and to phone and speak to them if it is urgent or needed sooner than 2 or 3 days.

I can WhatsApp mine, sometimes she responds straight away, sometimes it takes a couple of days. She makes it very clear to contact triage if it's something of concern or that can't wait!

Well I tried ringing my midwife team today about something and the number they've given me doesn't exist. Tried ringing the "booking line" instead, that line is constantly busy. So I literally have no way of contacting the community midwives. Could be worse I guess? 🤦🏼‍♀️ But yes, you would hope that someone would pick up on your text within 3 days even if it's not your own midwife
