When did you give your baby solids?

Hi I’m a first time mom and I started giving my baby solids at 6 months just curious on how everyone did it. Did you do purées or baby led weaning and how many times a day did you feed them and how did you lead up to 3 times a day? Also if you did purées how did you transition your baby to actual food?

I did purees I started with 1 meal then upped to 2 then 3 I started with seperate veg like broccoli boiled then pureed I made my own. Then started added fruit puddings and yoghurt then things like potatoes. I slowly made these soft and lumpier also giving finger foods such as toast.

I started purées/mashed foods 2 weeks before my daughter turned 6 months olds About 2 weeks after starting food i tried avocado and banana slices BLW style and said absolutely not i’m not ready lol. Then the next week i gave her a steamed broccoli floret and chewed it up really good and seemed really interested in it ! (She was about 6 months at this point. Then i slowly started giving her more solid foods in BLW form like steamed sweet potato fingers, steamed carrots, steamed broccoli , strawberries, etc. Whatever food i had given her in puree form we started over and gave her those same foods in whole form/BLW form. Then we started introducing allergens (1 at a time for 3-4 days) I would give her 1 meal a day and it would usually consist of whatever foods she had already tried so ex a steamed sweet potato stick, a strawberry in whole form and maybe some baby oatmeal on the side.

We then started doing full BLW and slowly transitioned to 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner) once she was about 7 months and right now she is gonna be 8 months in 10 days and she does 2 meals a day with all of her normal formula bottles and some snacks of baby puff sticks or teething crackers here and there throughout the day!

I started giving my son baby food around 3 months, because he was hungry, and started teething so early. Started giving more solid foods around 4 months. He’s now a little over a week away from one. We do three meals a day along with snacks, and some bottles still. He lets us know when he’s hungry for food, I taught him the sign language for eat.
