How to tell when baby is teething?

How do you know when your baby is teething? My LB is 3 months tomorrow and tonight he keeps waking up after an hour or so of sleep screaming. The screaming sounds like his pain screaming, but I've only heard his pain screaming once, after his 2 month shots. I looked in his mouth and no signs of emerging teeth that I can see. He's doing a lot of hands in mouth lately but that's also the stage he's at developmentally. Help? It hurts to see him screaming this, and it's getting really hard to see him screaming like that (and painful for me/my back) but if he's not teething I don't want to give him Tylenol or anything if he doesn't need it.

Hylands teething tablets worked great for me. My sons both were teething before they had actual teeth. By 4 months my 1st son had 2 teeth. It took him what felt like forever for them to come in tho.

I use baby orajel and the teethers u put in the freezer _ my daughter just chews on things super aggressive when shes teethin

How do I know if he's actually teething though? He's barely 3 months and the only sign I have is him screaming, and it only just started tonight

Red checks tends to be the give away for teething. Could you try a tether and see if that helps during the day? That maybe a give away

@Claire I was planning on getting some teether toys soon since he's approaching the teething age. Luckily his screaming tonight seems to have been temporary, he stopped after I got him back to sleep at 8:45 and even when he woke up to eat at 11:30 he didn't scream.

My boy is 13 weeks and is dribbling a lot, gets flushed cheeks and obsessively chews on his hands and thumb while making a moaning chatting noise! Again, I can’t feel any sharp teeth just yet but I gave him my finger to chew on last night for about half an hour because he was super grouchy and it really helped I’m assuming it’s teething but hands in the mouth and dribbling can be normal at this age without teething so the main give away is the grumpiness and red cheeks
