When buying your child/children birthdays/Christmas presents

Do you go halves with paying for things with your partner (their dad) or do you buy it all and just put dads name on the gift/card

We don’t go halves as such I go ahead and buy some things then send him links to other things for her we are married but separate finances

We put all our money in to joint account and share evenly. If we have to buy gifts, we use money from the account. My partner earns a lot more than I do, but he wants things to be fair, so we always have the same amount to spend each month. It works for us.

We either go halves or we take turns buying things.

Usually I ask for an amount of money for birthdays/christmas (I’m on mat leave currently) but this is more of a ‘I need x amount for xyz’; I then usually end up buying things without that money anyways and he’ll buy bits too and then we’ll wrap up together, whilst we have separate accounts my husband told me ‘our money is our money’ yours pay your bills and fun money, mine covers the bigger bills, him, fun money for the family. My husband likes to be actively involved in everything so we usually talk over what we’re going to buy and then we usually go over and above on both sides 😂

We have a joint account all money goes into. We both chose the presents together but if one sees something then we send link to the other one to get an agreement before we buy it. Then gift label will say from mummy and daddy. I’m currently a stay at home mum so technically he pays for everything

@Shana same for us

My wife and I don’t go halves- but last year she did birthday and I did Xmas. This year so far I’ve bought bits but regardless if she did or didn’t- it’s from us both…if we were not together this may be different
