Earliest c section??

I am 33 weeks pregnant today with my 2nd baby and I had a natural birth with my first baby but had shoulder distocia as she was 9lb14 and so wasn’t sure whether I wanted to go natural or c section this time around. However new update I have come out in an extremely itchy rash from 30 weeks and so wondering how early doctors would take you for an early c section? I feel like I can’t live another day with this bloody itching but also know baby can’t come out just now either so trying to hang on for as long as possible. I have tried everything already for the itching and spoken to doctor at GP and midwives too. They have finally referred me to my consultant to see about early induction but wanted to know going in when you think the earliest they would do it was. I was hoping maybe 35/36 weeks?

My trust wont do them early than 37/38 weeks unless medically necessary, however I'm not sure how they take into account mental health ❤ The fact that they have referred you at least means there mayb be a possibility it just might not be as early as you want xx

Most places won't do elective c sections any earlier than full term so 37 weeks at least. Some places later like 38/39 weeks. At 35/36 weeks your baby would be classed as pre-term or premature. This doesn't come without its risks

I totally understand however it is a medical condition I’m suffering from we just don’t know what it’s called. I absolutely want to put baby’s health first and I do but I also have to think of my mental health as I’ve suffered with constant itching for the last 3 weeks and have got another minimum 3/4 weeks left and that makes me miserable. I’m struggling so badly.

have they diagnosed you with cholestasis? i had insane uncontrollable itching of my hands and feet and had to be induced bang on 37w due to it. it was diagnosed after testing bloods and bile levels xx

@Kira no they haven’t. I had bloods done 2 weeks ago and they came back clear. But midwife done new bloods and bile acids on Thursday there so just waiting to hear back about them. My itching is all over. So like neck, arms, tummy, chest, legs, hands and feet. Literally itchy from my neck to my toes. Oh jeez and how was baby when you gave birth? X

@Lucy oh god that sounds so horrible poor you!:( i hope you get some answers & help soon! my induction failed unfortunately and i begged for a c-section. before they let me have the section, they gave me a course of steroid shots to help babies lungs (not sure if they actually offer steroid shots at this gestation anymore due to newly-found risks). my girl was born at 37+4 all healthy :) xx

It has been absolute torture @Kira and I’m dreading another 4 weeks of this! Thanks hoping to hear this week 🤞🤞 Hmmm will be interesting to see how it progresses. Aww I’m glad everything turned out good for your wee girl!! Xx

They don't like to do it earlier then 39 weeks I was told to reduce the risk of the baby having breathing problems. The last few weeks will fly by before you know it.

Yeah flying by isn’t exactly helping with a constant need to itch. But thanks xx
