Pasta

How are you giving your little ones pasta? I’m making a beef ragu and says to give the baby the pasta whole - I’m using rigatoni - is this fine? Idk why I’m so scared? 🤣 she eats solids fine but she’s never had pasta whole before, only puréed

I just give my little one most pasta shapes!! She’s at the stage she like to shove the whole thing in her mouth though so I would use scissors to cut some bigger shapes like fusilli and rigatoni in half x

Yes! Give it him whole but cook longer than I would cook ours if it’s rigatoni. Made him lasagne and ended up chopping that up for him. If you’re nervous, you can get these tiny star pasta from Sainsbury’s for like 72p. Exactly the same as the pasta marketed for babies but cheaper!

Amazing thank you so much!! I get so paranoid when giving her something new 🙈🙈

Sometimes I give it whole (fusilli/penne) for him to eat himself and other times I’ll chop it up into smaller pieces and he’ll have it in a bowl with me helping him! ☺️

I’ve been giving mine hers whole. Mostly because she’s an independent queen and likes to do it all herself (smearing it all over herself) but obvs finds it easier to hold and therefore eat if bigger

Download the app Solid Starts, shows you exactly how to prepare also I use little stars pasta which you can get from Sainsbury’s. Orzo should be ok too.

My little girl loves pasta she has mac and cheese and bolognese, she hasant got the hang of feeding herself yet so I just chop them pasta In half and she loves It
