Baby boy doesnt want to eat much at home

I wonder if others have similar experiences. My son has been going to childminding since February and has been eating very well during his time at the childminder. However, he has not been accepting food at home especially lunch but also sometimes dinner. Specifically, he doesnt accept anything apart from yoghurt, bread or pancake shaped things. I make his meals for the childminding too, but there he eats anything i send e.g. soups, meat grains etc. Has anybody found a way forward from this? I am getting sick and tired of giving him pancakes all the time and also I dont think this will create good habits over time. Thanks!

Yep, my LO is 1.6 months, and we're in the same boat. To the point I've been putting watered down smoothies in his bottle at least once a day in hopes he still gets some nutrients. And putting finger foods and vegetable sticks in front of him in hopes but no such luck. But I was told he looks far from malnourished and to give him bottles of formula, so he still receives his vitamins. As some kids don't eat yet as their molars aren't fully in and stomachs can't break things down as easy. Which helped to put my mind at ease. But I'm worrying that he will just get used to it or become a picky eater. But my daughter did the same thing around his age and now eats everything and anything.

We are exactly the same! Eats everything the childminder offers, even stuff I have tried loads to get him to eat. He is also the same at his grans 😂 I told my childminder what he’s like at home and she says she finds it quite common so hopefully just a phase x

Same here. I just make sure I put veggies in his lunchbox! He literally eats anything including lettuce and steak at the childminder but it’s only pasta, bread and yoghurt at home. Nothing else. He’s also on formula once a day before bed and he gets vitamins in the morning so I’m not worried. Does your little one eat fruits? x

@Vivien he does eat fruits luckily, but no proper food I can get into him except the breakfast! What vitamins do you give to your little one?

@Hannah, can't 👀 👋 thanks! When did this change with your daughter?

@Melissa hope so!

She was like it for around 3/4 months. And she started eating properly around her 2nd birthday. Which has also helped ease my mind with my little boy, but he's so stubborn.

@Hannah, can't 👀 👋 That's great. Let's hope the same. Thank you.
