Tried around 2 ish with no luck the a week before his 3rd birthday he just got it so quickly
I plan on doing it when he starts showing signs if being ready.
With my first I started at 20 months, introducing the potty and starting to understand the feeling of needing to go then holding it until a toilet was available. She was fully day trained at 26 months and night trained by 2.5. My second showed interest around 18 months, so I started introducing the toilet then. Started really potty training around 20 months when she moved day care rooms and the new room was able to support the process. It's never too early to introduce the concept of the toilet, but keep pressure low to encourage success
My eldest is almost 3.5 and we only just did it over the summer. Youngest will be 2 in November and we’re not planning anytime soon
2 years 10 months old and she got it straight away and was accident free after 2 days. I would always recommend people to just wait until they are older. I wouldn’t personally want months and months of it.
I started with my son at 18 months cause I had a newborn and I refused to have two kids in diapers ( but now I'm pregnant again 4 months PP) lol 😭 he's halfway there, he knows the potty and he knows how to pee and poop there , he just needs help with pulling his underwear and pants off. I believe by 2 he should get the message and be fully trained .
Been trying since she was two but, my daughter just turned three today and she’s been potty trained for ab a month now.. when they are ready they are just ready! .. I would wait til he’s atleast two.
18 months... when they can point to their basic body parts (hands, fingers, toes, feet, eyes, ears, nose, mouth...) and can tell you when they are wet or need a diaper change, it's a good time to try. Even if a toddler isn't great with words, teaching signs are so helpful for them to be able to communicate their needs. @Alyssa see I think this is way more plausible. My child could not hold their potty at 18 months or even 30 months.
Even at 3 it took him so long to poop on the potty and he only recently started being able to make it through the night without peeing his bed (six months later). I was in no rush as we use cloth diapers so we weren’t paying for diapers and I’m home with both of my kids. I just waited until he showed interest and we went from there. After hearing peoples experiences when they potty train very young I think it’s best (and easier) to wait!
@Cassie if the chick who plays amy can potty train her kids from birth 1 should be possible
@Monique they’re not potty trained. It’s called elimination communication. Two very different things. Elimination communication is about learning your baby and their ques when they need to use the bathroom and placing them on the toilet.

Did it again Labor Day weekend and other than some motor skills of being able to pull his pants down on his own, we are potty trained. We started Thursday Morning and it was a rough first day but then Day 2 we started thanking him for using the potty and it clicked. We’ve been good other than the occasional time that he trusts a fart he shouldn’t have 😂. He turns 2 next month.
@Jennifer this is a really good point. We worked for a while on pulling down pants before we even attempted! I feel like a lot of mom forget this part and it’s so vital!
@Alyssa isnt that what youre pretty much doing when potty training? Because when i was potty training the kids i nannied
I started at 2.5 with my son but then he ended up having chronic constipation so I backed off a little.
We started at 19 months when our daughter was showing signs of readiness, we went straight for no nappies by day, she picked it up fairly quickly but still had days where she had accidents too. She's 25 months now and hasn't had an accident for almost a week :) glad we started when we did, but definitely look up signs they are ready.
I plan to start around 2ish but will depend on her development and communication skills.
