Me too

My boy showed signs just before 2, it took maybe a week. We stayed home, had a potty out and only kept him in jocks or nothing. Constant reminders of “make sure you tell me if you need to go to the toilet”. No pants and lots of outside time if you can is helpful, as they know when they’ve gone and eventually recognise the feeling before hand. He was ready though, he knew when he was going to wee.

We trained our daughter she was 3y3m old. Prior to this she'd sit on the toilet to do wees, would watch us etc we talked about going to the toilet with her. When we started training we spent 3 days at home (fri-sun). I took her to the toilet every hour the first day, lots of reminders. Second day lots of reminders but took her every 90mins, trusted her a bit more to let me know. Third day was led by her entirely. Then it was Monday I packed lots of undies and changes of clothing for daycare incase but she was brilliant only having 1 accident at care.

We started just before 18 months with my son, I bought the book from go diaper free and followed what to do from that He’s 21 months now and tells us when he needs to wee or poo although he still wears a nappy for sleeping

I’m not sure but I’ve just started with my 20 month old 🥰

There’s no right or wrong time to start toilet training, but most resources recommend between 2-3 years old. It’s important to look out for child’s readiness and willingness to undergo toilet training, as starting too early or when they’re not yet comfortable can cause toileting issues. We tried to train our daughter from 23 months, with regular “stop and reattempt” approaches but were unsuccessful because she just wasn’t ready yet. I thought she was, because she would go to private spots to do her business or tell us she’d done a wee or a poo, but she wasn’t ready. I tried to have her led each attempt but I would initiate it and if we had to abort the training because she wasn’t adjusting, we did. She was one month off turning 3 when it clicked for her and we haven’t looked back since. We did a week of being basically housebound so we could get use to it. We had a few accidents when venturing out of the house but we survived it!
