Walking dog with the pram

Do any of you walk your dog when you’re out with the pram? I find it difficult to do but I want to do it so that we can all go on long walks together. Anyone got any tips? My dog doesn’t pull, if anything he stops to smell everything but he walks as if the pram isn’t there, zig zagging from side to side

Most of the time I have both the dog and the pram. Mine also zig zags and stops to sniff but I just kind of go with the flow and allow it (unless I’m already stressed and then I lose it at the dog!) Not really got any tips, other than that we have a little bag for treats and poo bags attached to the lead, and one of those holders for used poo bags attached as well, as I struggle pushing the pram, holding the lead, and also carrying a used poo bag so this really helps. If I’m not trying to get baby down for a nap then I might wear him in the carrier as this makes the walks easier

I think my dog learnt with our first baby if she doesnt walk straight she will get a pram wheel to the heel 🤦‍♀️ It was definitely just practice though as shes very good with the pram now xx

Our dog trainer said start on short lead so she is next to pram, when she starts to try and go in front cut her up with the pram so she learns to keep out of the way of the front of the wheels. Only practiced 4 times and she is now nicely walking next to the pram x

I assume you can't have the dog off the lead? Short lead, I think the dog eventually learns though if the dog keeps cutting you up and hits the pram

Thank you everyone! Will give it a go x

I can’t do this with mine she’s already reactive with other dogs and even more so now with the baby she’s so protective of him. If a dog came over I would have to choose between leaving the baby there and walking away with my dog or potentially dealing with a dog fight! Its so frustrating because I would love to go on dog walks but I have to get someone to walk her for me when my parents aren’t around to walk her x
