advice !

so my baby’s father has basically been inactive this entire time !! I’m due in 2-3 weeks !! We barely talk unless I text him , he hasn’t helped with anything at all (everything she has I have gotten) ! But I don’t complain he told me his parents and family don’t want to be involved with the baby either .. but he claims he will send money when I need it or if he has it to send … should I just put him on child support ?? Like really what should I do ?? Honestly it hasn’t been bothering me UNTIL NOW , these last few weeks ! Luckily my baby has EVERYTHING + MORE that she needs as of now but it’s just not fair . Then I seen him at his friends baby shower smiling in a picture but when I wanted to have one he told me he wouldn’t come so I didn’t have one .

Show your support

luckily my support system ( my mom and 2 siblings ) have been AMAZING .. but the closer I get the more I think about it and start to feel a way . he literally told me “ she’s your blessing I don’t have kids” like huh ??

@Steph That’s what I’m leaning towards honestly !! Like if you want to just send money we mind as well do it through child support! I just moved to Georgia and he is in Missouri ! So is there a certain way I have to go about filing ?? I know all information except his ssn which he will never give me , I honestly don’t even want to tell him when she’s born I just want to send the papers .

I would definitely put him on child support, he knows what makes babies and chose to do it anyway. If he doesn’t want to be in the babies life he should at least help you support her, she didn’t ask to be here. Sorry you’re going through this

Sorry you’re going through this but, better to get it out the way earlier. I’d put him on child support. I’m in GA too, welcome.

Put him on child support these men should be accountable for the lives they create . Sorry your going through that but it will be better once your daughter comes and that’s amazing you have a supportive family and people that love you both !!

Definitely file for child support. If he says he will send you money you have no way to enforce it if he stops or doesn’t send you as much as he should. In most states there is a formula the courts use to determine how much he has to pay. It also is nice to just open the case now when he doesn’t want to be involved and would likely agree to no visitation. Go to an attorney where you live and they’ll know how to get him served where he lives.
