Start of with veg as babies get used to the sweetness of fruit if offered first. Give the food for 3 days to see if they react to it and if not after 3 days introduce something new. I done this for a month and the following month I started mixing the things sheā€™s had and introduced fruit as well and done the same thing. Hope this makes senseā˜ŗļøx

@Julia right okay thank you think so just see people with these fancy means and places am like omg where do I start

Just start giving them small plates of what youā€™re eating. Thatā€™s what was easiest for us.

@Charlotte I started of with purĆ©es as I was terrified of my little girl choking and I built the purĆ©es up from really smooth to lumpy texture to melty sticks to now veg (really mushy veg), soft fruits like watermelon, toast and rice with homemade sauces. But yes itā€™s definitely very overwhelming to try and figure out where to start and also what you need. Download the solid start app and that shows you have to prepare foods for babies and what the allergens are as wellā˜ŗļøx

they donā€™t need teeth to start! my daughter didnā€™t start getting teeth until 1 but she started solids at 7mo. i definitely recommend the solid starts app, it makes things a lot easier! you can do your research, but the idea of waiting 3 days between new foods is outdated. i know a lot of people try to do 100 foods before 1, i think thereā€™s a checklist you can find online

I started with purees at 4 months, and went on to actually solid foods, self fed, at 6 months. Started with meats and veggies and plain starches, went on to fruit and such at around 8 months once he was good with solids and eating well

You don't need to do 3 days of the same thing at all. I'm doing 1 planned meal a day and anything extra is a bonus (but at 6mo milk takes priority) and 2 days repeating a main allergen before a day of no allergens/allergens already tested. She usually gets 2-3 different tastes in one meal but barely ears anything anyway - it's up to her to decide what she eats/doesn't. Once I've given her an allergen twice I include it in rotation (ie she's had wheat so I can test egg by doing baby banana pancakes). Some say unless there's family history of allergies you don't have to give them separate, just make note and not too many in one go in case of a reaction. 'Weaning the BLW way' is a good Facebook group with very knowledgeable admin - I usually search in there if I'm unsure how to cut/serve something, but I joined a few groups.

@Tagmayne am same so heā€™s been on purĆ©es from 4 month but nearly 6 month now and heā€™s just needing more and want to get him on it before he gose to childminders to make everyoneā€™s life easier and I know heā€™s ready just donā€™t know where to start x

Wow thank you everyone I donā€™t know there was an app and thinks and groups I didnā€™t even think of so thank you Iā€™ll have a look x
