Food vs milk

Does anyone else feel like their baby is still taking more calories from milk than food? My boy is breast fed and has a feed first thing, breakfast about an hour after, lunch, feed to sleep, tea, feed to sleep. I just feel like he pisses about at meal times and hardly eats anything. I'm starting to get a bit worried and just sad really. Its also hard to find things he actually likes. The only thing I can be sure he will eat well is pasta. Eggs are a no, hates bananas, hates rice, spits out any form of fish too. I do keep trying all if the above but he just gets annoyed then refuses to eat anything at all :(

I’m the same my girls 14 months we still on 4 bottles a day and one formula plus one in the night! She just has 4 mouthfuls or so the throes rest on floor and refuses any more too! Wants out highchair o know how you feel everyday just feel like wasting food as there just intrested really and my girls same soon she sees bottle just wants that and screams for it some days, I offer snacks too. She mainly only has yoghurts and raspberries 😩 Sorry I’m no help as such! Just not alone it’s stressful I know xxx I Google it and it says can be normal to to go of solids… untill I see her physically thinner looking I’m not going to worry or go to GP yet

Hi we’re in a similar boat! My daughter will try all foods but she barely eats any of it. She’ll take a bite and then everything else will get thrown on the floor, she still has up to 5 bottles (day & night) I’m starting to get stressed with it, even nursery have commented on how little food she actually eats. I’m not sure how to help her, people keep telling me to stop giving her milk, but I can’t let her go hungry 😵‍💫

Thank god I’m not alone after seeing this and the comments I’m like what am I doing wrong he just refuses tbh he has been ill these few days but even before still on 4 bottles I give him breakfast lunch and dinner and snacks in between all very much hit and miss some good days some nothing at all but he will still fill up on milk it’s nice to see I’m not the only one 💀😭

Thankyou for your input girls. Im glad im no alone. I feel like not giving him milk first thing isnt an option because he usually does sleep through now (after months of horrendous sleep). When he wakes up he is really hungry but my toddler is still asleep. If i make him breakkfast and she wakes up i cant leave her or she might pee the bed but i also cant leave him in his highchair with food because he might choke while im not there so cutting the morning feed isn't an option. I feel like spoonfeeding is the only way to actuallly get a decent amount in even though he prefers to to feed himself. I feel like we are going backwards. In the last few months he has cut 5 teeth, had 2 colds, injections and a horrendous eczema flare up that required antibiotics which he hated. Its such a tough situation because i know if i cut the milk his night routine will be f*cked and we worked so hard to get to where we are now 😔

Same here! She has about five bottles. I’m on formula still because of cows milk allergy and a large supply on prescription. I’ve been researching and trying different methods. What I think will work is no morning bottle, straight to breakfast. Bottle before nap Lunch, dinner Bottle before bed Eventually I’m going to cut out the nap bottle. Reduce the nap bottle bit by bit till it’s gone. I noticed when she has been without a bottle for a while, usually after the nap bottle, she is eating alot more. It is probably just that they’re filling up on milk and I know, it’s so hard to not offer it when they want it but offer water and a snack instead if it isn’t lunch/dinner time
