Bad relationship with food

I’ve always been into my healthy stuff and going to the gym. Had a baby in December, I was 79kg in May, I’m now 73kg. Now I have a really bad relationship with food. I’m scared too loose too much weight cause I’m worried it’ll be an illness ( I’m always scared about cancer I have healthy anxiety) but I’m scared to eat bad food cause I’m worried I’ll get fat and put weight on. Eating bad food makes me feel like shit. My partner just ordered Chinese and my anxiety is not great because of it. Not really sure what to do.

If you ate takeaways all the time then it would be unhealthy, but if every now and then, they will not make any difference to your weight if you eat mostly well the rest of the time! Drink some water to stay nicely hydrated, do something tomorrow that will make you feel good physically, and try to enjoy your delicious dinner!!

@M I know your right, I’ve been under a lot of stress recently so my cravings have been so bad and that makes me so so anxious now. I just feel like I have a bad relationship with food. I can’t enjoy eating bad things I constantly feel guilty and like shit for it. If I lose too much weight too quickly, I start worrying thinking that maybe I have an illness 🤦🏼‍♀️

I understand it must be really hard. You are so much more than your weight though, and you do deserve to eat things that you enjoy or crave! If you work, you could look into whether there is an EAP at your workplace that can support you with what you are going through. Or if your partner works and their workplace has one, sometimes EAPs can be used by people living with the employee. For example my work’s EAP can be used by my partner who i live with. If not it would be worth speaking to your GP as there are lots of good services out there that they could refer you to! I hope you can feel better about it all soon xx

Sorry to hear you are struggling. Start with small changes in what you are consuming as it is more obtainable and not as overwhelming. Prioritize your protein and healthy fats that is going to fuel your body. “Bad” meals happen and it’s okay, life is all about balance. It’s normal for your weight to fluctuate with hormones and also when you start eating more lean, Whole Foods. :)

Honestly I'm not sure what to suggest but I just wanted to let you know you aren't the only one struggling with this, I am too
