Screen time

Typically on weekends we are on the move but it’s been yucky outside. What are your little ones doing during the day? We watch movies and i want to do less screen time but I honestly don’t know what to do.

It’s hard. I’ve resorted to buying more and more toys and just trying to get out f the house when I can. Plus giving them stuff to climb on helps too. But I’m also having trouble limiting screen time so you aren’t alone.

I've recently putting stuff In bins and Tupperware from the dollar store lol-stuff like like pom poms, plastic animals, etc and using measuring cups to scoop or just put things in and out. She's loved it. I don't feel ready to do sensory bins and deal with the mess so this is my happy medium for now that's been successful!

@Katherine that’s actually a great idea! Mine was super into the Tupperware at my dad’s the other day. I’m going to try this

I tape butcher paper on the wall give my little one the washable markers and she goes crazy drawing on the paper for a while! Also I agree climbing on stuff helps

@Cat yes! I realized she was enjoying dollar tree junk just as much/if not more than toys so we are rolling with it lol

@Andrea I love this idea! No mess on the wall??

@Katherine if she does get it on the wall you can literally wash it off with a baby wipe it’s so easy But she is pretty good at not drawing on the walls

We do lots of pretend play. Lately her favorite is building a fort and pretending to be a bear in a cave haha. Also lots of pretend play taking care of baby dolls and stuffed animals. Marching around with the house with a spatula is also a favorite 🤷🏽‍♀️ haha idk we came up with it one day and my daughter will do it for a lonngggg time and get everyone in the house involved. Reading, blocks, coloring on big boxes, painting, making obstacle courses to climb/crawl/walk over are also favs
