U/C Question

I'm a SAHM we do not claim benefits currently, i worked and then claimed U/C for the first 2 years of my sons life,I have one child and we are now expecting our second, for the first 2 years of a child's life the "main parent" can receive U/C without having to look for work etc.. does anyone know if I am able to claim this once my second child is born and when the 2 years is up, sign off from receiving assistance and resume being a sahm? Is that a thing that's allowed seeing as I'm a sahm mum and unemployed already?

You can yes, you may not get a lot depending on rent/mortgage, partners wages, your SMP etc x

They take the youngest child’s age into consideration once you’ve declared them on UC. If you’re not in receipt of UC now and reclaim again there’s a chance you’ll be asked about earnings/unemployment between the period you weren’t claiming. Your partners earnings will be taken into account and any savings you have.
