Boredom

On days we stay home, I think my little man is getting bored of the toys we have and I don't plan on buying any more until his birthday. Does anyone have any ideas for me of simple activities I can do with him as I'm running out of ideas. Please bear in mind I have a chronic illness so some days have less energy than others 💕

Have you tried rotating them so that he doesn’t have access to all of them all the time. As well as this mines really into scribbling on paper at the moment. Also sometimes putting random objects In a box, like a peg, stones, tin foil etc keeps him entertained for quite a while x

I had a delivery the other day that came in a big cardboard box. We got her paint pens out and she sat in it while we decorated it. We probably spent at least 30 minutes over 3 or 4 days doing this. I feel like i’m also running out of things to do and worry about her getting board now that the weather has changed and we can’t always get out!

Not sure if you’ve done these, but here’s a couple I’ve seen floating about online: 1) Oobleck/cornflour mixture in one bowl with some small animals/dinosaurs and then another with soapy water to clean them 2) Some sellotape across a door-way and some pom-poms so that little man can throw them onto it? 3) Save your empty loo rolls - tape some to a wall and then drop the balls through the rolls

Thank you all sooo much, these ideas are fab!

We do anything with water. She asks to 'wash up' all the time and i'll either get her toddler chair out or just put her naked in the sink. She used to just pour water into different containers, recently she's been grabbing handfuls of duplo figures and animals and running to the sink with them. She makes them splash and dive and have baths in smaller cups etc. I literally just sit there and leave her to it, sometimes I tidy the kitchen around her (we have a small kitchen so I'm always very close). I have lots of towels around to keep the water at bay 😅 We've also done painting with water - using paintbrushes with just water on coloured paper works really well!
