I really need to know that I am not the only one!!

Can you guys share your shoe closet cause at this rate; I told my fiancée that I might need to go to therapy! I seriously have a problem with the amount of shoes I buy! I told him that I might be traumatized from living with my father growing up and not being able to purchase shoes! Literally going to school with holes in my shoes (my mom spoiled me, my father was an addict) so the money my mom did send, I never seen! This is only half of it! He just laughs at me telling me that I have a hoarding problem with shoes! It’s like I buy them and some I never wear, it’s like I got to have them!! lol

I keep buying shoes too!!! We need help!

@Dana definitely need some type of help! I just gave 3 pair away to my best friend not even a week ago and I still have tons!

I have well over 60 pairs of shoes including heels, sandals, thigh high boots, sneakers etc. I’ll still buy another pair for an occasion or outfit and toss old ones when needed. Maybe look into buying shoe cases that hold multiple at once. They have some that can slide under the bed or lay flat underneath a shelf in the closet and even ones that lay flat enough to stack them. Some are plastic and some are fabric. It creates an illusion that you don’t have as many as you do, it keeps them all in a remote area and you free up space by not having tons of boxes.

@Siera we live in a town home and I like to keep things very tidy, so I don’t even know where I would even place something like that! It is definitely something I can look into and figure out the rest later! It feels like they are really taking over in here!

On another note, two things can be true at once. When you grow up not having something you overcompensate once you’re old enough to do it for yourself. As long as you’re not hoarding because of it (you’re not), it’s perfectly fine. While it’s a defense mechanism due to trauma, it’s not excessive and unbearable. Now you get to create security in your own family by providing the necessities you yearned for as a child. Overtime your inner child will be healed and you won’t connect that dot anymore ❤️

@Passion I totally understand. Maybe try looking up space saver shoe organizers on Amazon or Pinterest to see if anything sticks out that would help you.

@Siera girl did I mention, that this is just HALF of it! lol you right though because my fiancée complains about our son shoes talking about it’s starting to look like mines! I just rather him to not ever feel how I felt growing up! I mean, at least I try to keep them neat! lol I think I’m gone with a large enough shoe organizer to keep under the bed!

Go to target or container store and get storage for your shoes. Makes thing so much easier
