Postpartum essentials??

I’m 36 weeks and wondering if there’s anything that people would recommend I buy for recovery. Like a peri bottle, is it worth getting? I just don’t want to buy things I probably won’t end up using so just wondering what everyone has used and would recommend 😊

First time I had no idea what to buy. Second time around I’ve got disposable underwear, peri bottle, breast pads, postpartum belly binder (this really helps as everything feels really weird after and this helps hold it all in) comfortable clothes to come home in, nightdress for hospital, shower essentials. Oh and also some electrolyte supplement to add to water as I’m planning to breast feed so this should help. Also a stool softener! This is a must! Xx

Awesome, I’ll add all that to my list. Thank you!!

Nappies! Dont even bother with maternity pads because the bleeding could and most likely will be extreme.

Disposable underwear, lucozade (breastfeeding craving!) & nipple cream were essentials for me! Breast pads too as I’d leak a lot in the first few weeks

Nipple cream, peri bottle is a must and witch Hazel, disposable underwear that are NOT TOO TIGHT. The last time my pants were too tight and I couldn't cope lol

Peri bottle was amazing for keeping clean afterwards. And refreshing to use whilst peeing. I used it 2 weeks PP 🤍

I preferred giant primark pants and maternity pads over the disposable underwear which I found a bit sweaty and itchy

So, I'm about to have my 6th. The things I won't live without postpartum are these items. -BUY a Peri bottle. My first 4 babies, I had the hospital one they usually give you at hospital (even though 2 of those births were honestly births) But with my 5th, I actually bought the frida peri bottle.... seriously a game changer!! A MILLION times better then the hospital ones and way worth it. I still have it for this baby that's coming next month. -Depends. Yes, adult diapers lol. I've used them postpartum for ALL my babies. Use those with pads inside. You may feel silly at first. But it's so much easier to deal with it. You can just throw them away instead of dealing with ruining underwear with pads or dealing with the mesh kind (which drive me nuts when I wore one in the hospital. I quickly changed into a depends when I could after that first mesh and bed pad kind lol -perial ice pack or padcicles (you can go on pinterest to see how to made padcicles. I would have these if your prone to tearing or it's...

Your first baby. Since you won't know if you'll tear) -have quick go to snacks ready for the postpartum era. -electrolyte drinks (coconut water, body armor l...) -Pain pills. Like Tylenol or whatnot. I usually do this tincture over pills because I prefer more of a natural approach. I've used this stuff with my 3rd, 4th, 5th and will use it again for my 6th. You will get postpartum cramping contractions after birth. Since your uterus will be shrinking back down. Tincture I use (the other tinctures on this site are awesome too. I've used some of them) https://www.wishgardenherbs.com/products/afterease-after-birth-pains
