If a girl, Michelle or Maria came to my mind :) On the same boat, struggling to find names for my baby girl too.
@Dominique lol for the pronunciation, it's not people fault, just a language thing. Even my name Marie is pronounced differently in English and French. Some names I like until my husband pronounced them. Then I'm disappointed lol. I also don't want it to translate to something bad😅...so hard
We have a list with a favourite. We didn't want to absolutely commit although we have been calling her the top name on the list to see how we feel about it. We're not telling anyone the name so it doesn't matter if we change our minds.
@Marie I have to choose a name that goes well between English and Dutch. My own name gets butchered a lot if I don't say anything about it. People I care about pronounce it the way I want them to. In both languages

@Dominique my daughter is called jorgie and everyone calls her Georgia or George. So frustrating 😂
@Sara people default my name to 'Dom' in English, which means 'dumb' in Dutch. I had to start correcting people to call me Domi instead. My partner calls me 'Do' like the rest of my family does. People who care, will make the effort. Or at least try
@Sara I am very petty towards repeat offenders 😂 I will say it, then correct once, but after that I will call you a different name entirely to prove a point
@Jess the only reason why my husband doesn't want Enzo is because of Enzo Ferrari 🤦🏾♀️...I keep telling him no body cares 😅

@Marie We have a similar situation. I’m from an Italian family and have grown up with people calling me Sophie 🙄 or struggling to say my surname, so definitely relate! My husband is English so baby will have his surname and we want to go with an Italian first name. But we can’t agree on a preferred name as I know most people will not pronounce it correctly. My husband says we’ll just need to correct people, encourage baby to do the same but I know how tedious that can get! I should probably get over it 🫣😝 or do what you do @Dominique!
@Sophia yeah not easy. I think at the end we will just pick a name we like, if that ever happened 😅, then whatever happens with the incorrect prononciation we'll deal with it. It's hard enough. I like italian names like Gia, my husband is Brazilian but has italian heritage too
@Marie Aurelia (pronounced roughly the same in French and Portuguese and in English, just the way the r is pronounced will change!) We absolutely love the name Maya, but we're having a boy. It would also be pronounced the same. I'm French and husband English so we had this conversation 😂 good luck! We found boys name sooooooo much harder.

@Aurélie merci pour la suggestion, malheureusement Aurelia est le prénom d'une ancienne camarade de classe, mauvais souvenir 😅....j'aime Maya, c'est sur notre liste....en effet pour garçon c'est plus compliqué, encore quelques semaines pour se décider, la pression monte....
@Marie ah noooonnn, je suis désolée 🙈😅 Beaucoup de gens disent que pour les garçons en effet c'est plus difficile quand même. On a un top 5 et je crois qu'on décidera quand il arrivera 😂 à moins qu'on arrive à être d'accord avant son arrivée. Bon courage ! 😊

@Dominique sorry Dominique ! I mentioned Aurelia but as Marie said, bad school memories haha! Then said we looooooove Maya and could be a good option but we're having a boy and I find boys name so much harder, don't you think?

@Dominique 😂....yeah, save the cheerleader ahah one of my favourite show....actually my son is named Mylo, I got the idea from the actor who plays Peter Petrelli which I really like (Milo Ventimiglia) ....and with a "y" as it means my love/ my little one😊....hubby is aware lol 😆

@Marie not really 😂 basically we agree we really like a top 5 but we aren't set on one in particular. Well I am (I love Ollie, I know it's super popular at the moment but I've loved it for years) but it would maybe rhyme too much with our surname which is also 2 syllables and O - ie 🙈 but different consonants so I don't know. And I don't really want Oliver. We've got other options so we will see. I just wanted a name that wasn't too popular or classic but I also love James more and more. So hard! 🤣🙈

Yes, struggling, but we do know the gender and don't have as many requirements 😂 about the pronunciation thing, it's a noble goal, but people should just make an effort to pronounce one's name correctly. It's a sign of respect.
