Working on it

I'm potty Training two toddlers. How can I get them to go on their own when needed? How can I get them to say potty when they feel like they have to go? I'm trying 😭

You can try printing out a picture with the words! Like a public restroom sign but at your house! Even if it’s nonverbal communication at first it’s still communication! And it could prep them for finding bathrooms in the real world too

That's not gunna happen for a while u have to set an alarm every 15 mins for a whole and the. Move it to 25 and then move it to 30 and then after a while move it to and hour and then at that point they should have that feeling of oh I gotta pee let's tell someone or go to the pottu

I have 5 year old twins

I keep them on for 15 minutes and then set it for 30 minutes for them to go again. Should I change it?

This is my first time ever potty training and I'm doing it all by myself. I don't know what I'm doing lol

I wouldn’t be training both at the same time, the youngest won’t be ready. Focus on the older one.

@Lisa He'll be 2 next month. When should I wait to start him?

I’m just here for the advice.

I have an 8 month old but I used to work as a nanny to toddlers, so I’ve potty trained many times! Grab some “potty” books from your local library or online that show a positive association with going in the toilet. Read those daily and show a positive attitude towards the freedom they will gain from pottying in the toilet. You can also show them cool “big kid” undies they can work towards using (often sold in prints with characters that kids love!) What I did was every 30 minutes take them to the potty. I’d have them sit on potty for 2 minutes. If they didn’t go, I would NOT make a big deal of it. If they went in the potty, we would have a “potty party” with dancing and cheering, lol. Just to associate positively with the toilet. We did this for a few weeks for it to really stick. I also did the sign language sign for potty, so they could use that if needed. Overall just take it easy on yourself and them, this is a whole skill they (and you!) are learning. You got this!!
