Postpartum Anxiety

I’m almost 2 week postpartum and I just need some people to make me feel not so alone. I know I’m not but it really helps to talk about it and get other people’s experiences. I love my little guy, I can’t help but worry about everything when it comes to him. I google non stop just to make sure he’s okay. He’s been having this squeaky sound when feeding at times or crying and it’s got me all worried about laryngomalacia.. which is apparently super common in babies BUT in some cases can be serious. Which he shows no symptoms of it being serious but just the thought that it could be is nauseating. I just need someone to tell me I’m not alone in the worries of having a newborn. Each day gets better but I find something to worry about just give me some time 😅

i took my baby into the er due to the same reasons , and they told me it’s nothing to worry about . it happens bc they have such a small airway🙂 but if you’re worried about it it doesn’t hurt to get him checked out

@alla I was literally telling my husband I just wanna pack up and go to the ER lol. But he does have an ENT app next week to address a tongue tie, and I plan to bring it up to them while we are there.

Omg I’m so with you! I’m almost 2 weeks postpartum with my 2nd and this anxiety hit me really early and heavy. I’m glad to see I’m not alone because sometimes motherhood issues makes us feel like we’re alone!

The third week I feel is sooooo much better. Like we just hit it and I feel a lot of relief now that we know his signals

Every time my dogs bark for longer than 20 seconds I’m worried someone is breaking in trying to kidnap my 3 week old baby girl. When I get in the car with her to go somewhere I just automatically cry when we make it back home safely without crashing and dying or some shit. And I too am always googling things that can randomly kill newborns/infants, because I’m terrified one of them will affect my girl. The postpartum anxiety is reeeeeal man. You’re definitely not alone.

@Mayra girl it’s rough! Especially the first few days! All I did was cry! Our hormones are so out of wack!

@Samantha I hear it gets better around the 3 week mark! I’m so ready for it!

@Mia I hate that! But it’s so refreshing to know we all feel the same. I honestly had to throw out every idea I had about motherhood because nothing could’ve prepared me for this!

@Samantha omg I can’t wait to feel better. You gave me hope!

@Hannah Martindale my neighbor asked me how I was doing and I just started crying! It has been tough but I keep telling myself it’s temporary!

@Mayra girl I feel that! And I don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea like I’m not happy, like I’m the happiest I’ve ever been, but also the most stressed out and overwhelmed I’ve ever been.

@Hannah Martindale yes! I’m happy my baby is here and every time I hold her I feel all this love! But at the same time I feel so sad and anxious. I know it’s mostly all the hormonal changes, but I wish we could skip this part!

This is my second baby but I remember the anxiety with my first. It does get better and you're doing good by talking about it with understanding people. It's crazy how much these tiny little creatures can stress us out, isn't it? 🥲

@Mayra girl yes. The 4th trimester is indeed the worst!

@Madeleine my chest literally feels like it’s caving in at times!!! I just wanna protect him with everything I am!

@Hannah Martindale I know, that mother instinct is so crazy strong

@Hannah Martindale omg lol that’s a good one! “4th trimester” so true!

My 3 week old is the same he’s currently laying on my chest and sounds wheezy and also croaky when he cries , he was c section so they did say c section babies have more mucus ect..

I can definitely say as a ftm it gets 100% better during the 3rd week. I finally feel a little confident in being a mother

Definitely not alone! My baby is 10 days old and was making a little snoring sound and I thought it was sleep apnea. Doctors say is totally normal and nothing to worry about. Also, today I stumbled a little while holding him and was freaking out about shaken baby syndrome 🤦‍♀️ the anxiety is reaaaaal.

I also barely sleep making sure he’s breathing all night 😮‍💨

@Gigi girl same. I finally got him to lay down last night and I was like “okay I need sleep” and I could not stop checking on him. I’m talking every 2 minutes. I thank god for his father being on leave because he takes over around 4-5 in the morning so I can rest. But when I wake up I’m immediately anxious until I lay eyes on him lol.

@Hannah Martindale If you ever need to talk, send me a message. I’m extremely anxious and totally understand ✨ also our babies are about the same age so we can just go through the process together 💖
