Try a temp agency like Kelly Services. They can get you a place that could turn out to be a permanent position.
It means you don't have much to lose, I'd just be completely honest and upfront about it. And that you have changed, and here's why you are motivated to seek employment. (Leaving a bad(?) relationship and getting independent again.) I would ask for an opportunity to try and offer to start with a lower salary on a trial period. Even just asking if they'd try you on a few cents to a dollar or so cheaper? Might encourage someone to take a shot on you.
Don't give up, send follow ups, go see people in person if you have to. Redo your resume. Start applying for fully remote positions online. There are places that don't care about history. Job searches all include rejection. Keep putting one foot in front of the other until you have walked away.
Download the Nextdoor app and see if there can be a temp “under the table” job. Sorry to hear you’re going through this.
