Did anyone else have ‘Post-weaning depression’??

For the last few weeks I’ve felt really low, tearful, can’t stand to look in the mirror 😔 Someone mentioned to me ‘post-weaning depression’ - when you cut down breastfeeding and your levels of oxytocin and prolactin stop which can some people depressed. Has anyone else heard of this, or had it themselves?? I’m not sure what to do to feel better…I do want to stop breastfeeding 😣

Im yet to wean so havent gone through it myself but i know it is super common, it's a hugeeee hormone change, it's like the second biggest you go through other than pregnancy! Be gentle to yourself and have soem self care time, check in with your gp if you're really struggling ❤️

Yes when I weaned I felt terrible for a few weeks and couldn’t work out why! Then I read a load of stuff about the hormonal changes and it suddenly made sense - I did feel better after a few weeks

Thank you ❤️ it’s crazy we’re not told more about all the hormone changes
