Solids!

My twins started solids & my baby girl did so good! I was definitely scared to start with eggs but my boyfriend who’s an EMT was here so it definitely took some pressure off! My twins are 7 months, when did you start solids & what did you give?

My baby turns 6 months at the start of October. I'm planning on starting with purees for the first few weeks

@Helen I did start with purées but they turned 7 months on the 22nd so I decided to start with pancakes. I used baby oatmeal & eggs & then today was eggs which they did so much better with!

@Jenessa soft foods should be fine as they tend to melt in the mouth. I've been meaning to read up on BLW foods and stages because it scared me at the moment.

@Helen It’s definitely scary since my son didn’t really enjoy the eggs & started gagging! That’s why I waited to introduce these foods for when my boyfriend is home

Aww she’s chewing so well!!! I started with purées but wish wish I did more of a BLW approach with soft solids like this. I was sooo anxious for the first 4 months of solids I’m sure my boy could sense it. I let him have a tiny taste here and there from 5 months but started purées at 6 months and it really took off more around 10 months when we were both used to it! I did some fruit pouches or mashed bananas initially. Then basically mashed whatever we had then slowly made it more chunky All the best mama x

@Emma I’m surprised she did well with chewing because her two bottom teeth are coming in, but my son already has his teeth in. She definitely did better than my son! I was very nervous but having my boyfriend here definitely helped! They did better with the eggs than with the baby pancakes I made them! Thank you 💕

She's doing so well moving it round her mouth and chewing. We went straight in and my baby's first meal was sausages and broccoli 😂 she had just turned 6 months a few days before but I waited until her Dad would be home for dinner. We're 2 weeks in now and she's already had over 30 foods! Whether she actually ingests lots is up for debate (there was definitely some red pepper evident this morning though 💩😂) We just let her feed herself and help with preloaded spoon/fork if necessary but she's not quite grasped the idea of cutlery yet! She had no teeth the day we started and now has one tooth.

@Carys I was definitely scared to start solids. They just turned seven months so I decided to give it a go. They had pancakes, which they didn’t do so well with. And then today was eggs. They both have their two bottom teeth. My daughter’s bottom teeth are still coming in, but my son already has his.

Awww great job momma and babies! I will tell you this, I was freaking out over weaning with my youngest. Honestly, with my eldest it was a breeze like you wouldn't believe, like she ate spaghetti like a pro at 10 months old that my dad just couldn't believe it.... My anxiety was actually through the roof 2nd time round and my girl had reflux and just so much other stuff. I did start purees to be on the safe side as well to help ease into it but i have tried my girl with a strawberry first (her favourite fruit now). We did baby porridge (had to stay on smooth longer than what the pack said). Then just done normal foods, like offered what I ate and even done things separately to let her try. Also scrambled eggs were the first solid that she actually ate 😂 we didn't get teeth in until 11months btw. There is a list of foods you can offer to try before 1 year old. You are doing an amazing job. Just go with what you feel comfortable with and yea, you will get the hang of it in no time 😊

started at 6 months! just wanted to comment that it gets easier! my daughter is almost 2 now, and is a strong eater! but i was a wreck at the beginning! YOU GOT THIS!

@gabi I definitely was a nervous wreck which is why I did it with my boyfriend here with me! They both are 7 months with their 2 bottom teeth! They did so good with the eggs, better than the pancakes I gave them

@Destiny Thank you!

Egg protein is the hardest & most complex protein to digest.. and some can be allergic to the yolk only and some allergic to the white

@Ericka It’s been a couple hours & both of my twins are okay! No signs of a reaction! That is why I decided to try eggs with my boyfriend here who is an EMT, as I said. They did pretty good since they both have bottom teeth!

I’m honestly so nervous and this is my 3rd baby😂 I had no problem giving them to my two others and don’t even remember how I started even tho they’re 3 and 2 I do remember we did mango centers, pineapple cores, lots of fruits and stuff they can naw on
