You can do baby led weaning which is where you give basically anything you are eating cut appropriately (except no honey under 1, no whole nuts and no added salt or sugar), traditional weaning where you offer purées, or you can do a mixture of the two. They may not eat much at first as they have to get used to it and will likely play with their food as they explore it. They also may not like certain foods - it can take around 10 tries. You will know when they’ve eaten something as you will see it in their nappy 😆 It’s thought that starting with savoury food and vegetables can prevent them preferring sweet foods but there’s not much evidence of this and actually breast milk is sweet so they may naturally prefer sweet anyway. Offer small sips of water at mealtimes, milk should still be their main source of hydration. It can take practice for them to use a straw but there’s no harm in using an open cup, it’s actually recommended
You can load spoons with food and let baby feed themselves but I also spoon feed some things like yoghurt otherwise it would take ages 😂

Ohh and she chews the straw of her sippy cup instead of sucking 🙈 feels like she’s really interested in drinking straight from the cup but still, is it too much? Should I just feed her with spoon myself?
