Does anyone else have a fear of childbirth, or did you when you were pregnant? Did you overcome it? What helped?

Nearly 38 weeks and im terrified as she’s my first. But I’m just telling myself it’s gonna happen either way and what I’ll get when it’s over with will be so worth all the pain x

I had so much fear. I used to tell myself that if alllllll these women did it before me, then I can do it. When that didn’t work, I told myself I really just don’t have a choice so I’m gonna have to suck it up LOL. When it came time to deliver, I was in such a mindset where I wasn’t even mentally “there” enough to think about the fear, just going through the mental motions of actually getting through it. Your body is so much stronger than you even know, you got this. ❤️

Yesssss so0o nervous 😓

I did ! I read the book hipnobirthing the Mogan method and that kind of made me feel I could do it. Then I got a doula that helped me with exercises and prepared me mentally for it. At the end I had an unmediated birth that I could say was awesome.

I was terrified of birth and the pain, so I knew I wanted an epidural. Even with the epidural I was still nervous, but when it came time and the moments after I knew I had nothing to worry about and i felt like I was scared for nothing

I saw a stat that said something like you are safer giving birth than getting in the car.. also really took on board the idea your body and your baby are doing a dance, you need to work with the baby and not against them. Follow what your body tells you to do and embrace the surges rather than fighting them. Im the biggest wimp (cant even get my bloods done wuthout someone holding my hand) hut birth was genuinely fine, somewhat enjoyable!

Birth was top on my list of things I had no idea how I was going to do until the day came. I was terrified of the idea of giving birth since I was a little girl just cause of what could go wrong. I just had my first baby a month ago and hey I survived! It's not as bad as it seems. I would 100% do it again; & my birth was not traumatic nor did it leave any life lasting effect on me. You can do this & you will do this 🤞🏼🤞🏼 it's all about your mindset

I was terrified before my first. I remember wanting him to stay in forever! When pregnant with my second, I was so ready for pregnancy to end and I’d already done birth once, it wasn’t scary at all! And when you’re in the zone, you’re not thinking about being scared really. You’re gonna want that baby out and you’ll be so excited to see them, it won’t cross your mind!

Omg I didn’t want kids because of it ! But once I did get pregnant I learned to let all that fear go. It’s almost like I eased all things & I had a great child birth experience ❤️

I was SO SCARED lol I had to be induced and it was such a long and stressful process but after my boy was out and in my arms I immediately knew I wanted to do it again lol so you’ll do fine mama ❤️ and you’ll be amazed because it truly is life changing in the very best way

I sorta did…. But I just kept telling myself it’s natural and my body was made for this and that women have been doing this for thousands of years so nothing to fear 💪🏻😎🫣

@Hayley agreed. But the moment your LO arrives you forget about the labor

I was terrified before and during pregnancy. All the way up until the 37th/38th week and then I was so ready to just have him out already😅I researched a lot when I felt ready to be done and that helped me mentally prepare. But once it’s happening, it’s a whole different story

i was nervous until i was in labor. then i just let my body take over

Sometimes I freak out about it but then I realise that it’s gonna happen whether I like it or not so then I try not to think about it 😬

Im terrified I'm 28 weeks and all I keep doing is crying with the fear of it I'm trying to read books on it to help xx

I didn’t, because I took a hypnobirthing class that made me actually look forward to the birth. Highly recommend it 😊

i’m 38+4 with my first. i’m terrified too 🤣 but i’m just reminding myself that there’s no point worrying about it really, it’s not going to change anything - it’s going to happen! just try and go with the flow and look forward to the end result. just remember there’s lots more positive birthing stories than there are negative ones!❤️

Yes Im terrified!!

I'm terrified, horrified of childbirth, the thing that keeps playing in my head is a scene from a series called Jane the Virgin, a quote from her mum when she was giving birth was "five more minutes of pain for a lifetime of happiness" - granted the labour they played in the series lasted about 10mins 😅 but hoping that'll keep my going during labour 🤞
