Not interested in food

My baby is 8 months old next week and is just not that interested in food unless it’s weetabix, Greek yoghurt or a banana. I’ve tried a mix of puree and BLW. Sometimes she does pick up the food and will have a few mouthfuls but then loses interest. I know that food before one is just for fun and milk is their main nutrition for now and I shouldn’t compare to other babies, but I see other babies eating so much more! Is anyone else’s baby the same?

My baby is 7 months and exactly the same! The only thing she is interested in is melty snack puffs. I think just keep offering a variety of things and they will get there! It is said that anything before one years old food is for fun as they still rely on milk mainly for their diet xx

My first only started getting interested in food around 10 months, but he’s 2.5 now and eats really well! I know it’s frustrating when you’ve made the effort to put things together. To be honest, I just started using pouches for a while, trying him on them and freezing portions in ice cube trays because I couldn’t handle all the wasted effort! As well as some BLW bits from whatever I was having. They will get there, in their own time.

Thank you! After my post I did use an Ella’s kitchen pouch (I’ve been trying to not use too many pouches but end up wasting so much food!) and she ate loads! It seems she prefers feeding herself!when I tried to spoon feed her she didn’t want it but I just left the spoon on the tray table or handed it to her and she fed herself no problem! Hopefully she’ll continue 🙌🏽
