Holiday tips!

Hi guys, we go on holiday next week for my boys first birthday! The nearer we get to it the more anxious I’m getting about the flight🫣 any tips on what people have done to keep their baby entertained? (I’ve bought one of those busy boards already) All my lo wants to do it just crawl all the time and when he can’t he gets annoyed so I’m worried about him whinging and anyone saying something to us🙃 Also any tips on keeping baby entertained when just around the sun beds and not when they are in the pool? TIA🙈😆

Plenty of toys they’ve not seen before those fidget spinner things for the plane windows are great! & snacks, lots and lots of snacks 😂 On the plane one of us always walks about with baby so he can explore/ see what’s going on. If you get a spare middle seat then it’s much easier as baby can climb around a little! I wouldn’t worry too much about other people, everyone’s always been really friendly with us and played with baby/ helped to keep them entertained! Even when baby has been unsettled nobody has batted an eyelid. Don’t panic and enjoy your holiday! x

Try not to worry, it often goes better than you think! We took a busy board, book and some toy keys (none of which he had seen before) as well as lots of snacks/food. Most of the entertainment came from looking at the other passengers as well as pulling out the in-flight leaflets. We did get up to let him walk and crawl (the plane had the space) and then just made sure we washed/put anti bac on. Our son also never naps in public but he did really well on the flight 🤞, we were delayed sat our return flight for an hour so there were a few babies fussing but they all fell asleep once the plane took off…. So even if they are unsettled I’m sure it won’t last the full flight and nobody really cares. Around the pool we were lucky to have day beds so if there are any of them then it’s a god send because they can sit/crawl and play in a bigger space. Enjoy ✈️! X

Thank you both so much that’s all really helpful advice! X

I second the spinners, they are a lifesaver on the flight! I also read somewhere that a week before the flight to pack away their fav toy and then bring them out on the plane. This helps as they are tried and tested and your little one will be chuffed to see it again. We’ve done quite a few flights (another one tomorrow) and they’ve always been good (touch wood…) there’s so much going on it really helps to entertain them!
