Countdown Anxiety

Im 39 weeks today and finished at work this week. I’m pottering around the house and it’s the first time I’ve felt anxiety constantly in this pregnancy. I’m worried that there’s reduced movement, or I’m sitting down for too long. Or it could be that I’ve got nothing else to focus on except the new arrival! How to people cope and keep busy at this point ?! Do movements reduced at this point in time?

Movements should not reduce, if you feel like they are it's a reason to call triage. In terms of keeping busy, try some batch cooking or mindfulness or washing baby clothes as they'll make you feel ready for the arrival.

This is why I'm working till nearly 40 weeks as I'd be exaaactly the same haha. I agree with batch cooking, will be a lifesaver after baby comes!

I'm off now too, finished at 38+4... The only thing I'm getting anxious about is having induction forced on me so I'm focusing on lots of gym ball, yoga, aromatherapy, relaxation/breathing/music etc to get the oxytocin going so he hopefully arrives before medical interventions takes over! But if you have reduced movements though you should definitely call triage and get checked, they shouldn't reduce xx
