Hey ladies

I am currently looking into different places to live. (Wanting to leave London soon) and need somewhere that is affordable but also safe and nice place to live. I have been great Yarmouth a few times on holidays. I wanted to know your honest opinions about living in this area/ lowestoft as well. Thank you

We moved up from Sutton Surrey to Lowestoft. It definitely is a lot safer here. Locals moan about the crime but it really does not compare. Traffic is less. Norwich is great for shopping. Gets darker quicker here as less lighting and things close earlier. There is however a lot to do for kids. I notice you have a child with possible sen and there is lots of local fb support groups and even a send activities calendar for Norfolk. Schools on the other hand are problematic as they like their prus and part time timetables that said it’s bad everywhere.

Yeah I am planning on making sure my son is diagnosed by full time school so hopefully even if the schools try and be stupid they will have funding and I will have everything I need to make sure he gets supported in school

Thank you so much. One of issues I'm having is just finding places because we have a tight budget and the lowest rent in areas around here is 850 and right now all we have for rent is 650 😬 so I'm hoping my partner starts getting more money from work soon and then by time we save up the deposit it should be able to match the rent costs. I've been to great Yarmouth a lot of times on holidays and like Hemsby etc so I know how all the shops and etc are and I think its a great accessible area. I just wanted to make sure that for full time living it's just as good

There are about 4 Lowestoft community fb pages so might be worth asking there regarding schools. My daughter was preverbal when she started school and the school she goes to is rated highly. My asd son goes to school in Norwich. Ironically the ehcp for my youngest was easier to get than Sutton. No regrets so far and we have a lot more space than our 2 bed flat. South of Lowestoft is better than north and I’d avoid near town and near KFC. I’d imagine it would be the same for Great Yarmouth.
