Emotions

Does anyone else get super worked up and emotional because of life and then feel bad because you’re upsetting the baby then feel poop 😂 I can’t win life is hard but then everyone says stop stressing because the baby feels it so then I’m beating myself up more! I can’t wait to have my baby here so I can see they’re OK and not worry about them in there ❤️

Yes I’m feeling exactly the same! So emotional I cry over such silly things and never usually cry at all! I thought I’d be less worried about baby in there closer to the end but I’m even more worried and just want to hold her so I know she’s okay xx

The babies can’t feel our stress and upset

@Elle they can feel everything we feel whilst they’re inside us they feel emotions we feel

@Sarah they really don’t lol 😅

@Elle have a little research because they do. Also, I don’t think it’s very polite to comment on someone’s post laughing at them and talking to them in such a way when they post something they’re concerned about. You could have scrolled on past this one. You’ve commented on many posts I’ve seen in very helpful ways but this is not one of them so please bear this in mind everyone is worrying and doesn’t need laughing at or being spoken to in this manner.

Hormones during pregnancy are terrible ! I'm sure you're trying yiur best to look after yourself and your baby.

@Sally honestly that feeling when they’re here will be incredible won’t it 🥰 It’s hard work this hormone stuff! Hope you’re OK xx

@Conchi they are! I never had hormones around periods or anything so it’s all new to me. It’s like a whole new side of me I’m trying to get to grips with. Thank you for your kind words xx

@Sarah I'm the same. I've been on the pill since I was 16 and for me it meant no mood swings or anything so I get it.

@Sarah i do apologise! You’re right , Google does seem to give the impression they do. I just think it’s likely a lot more complex than that, there is no real way to study a fetus’ brain, & even if there was, any activity isn’t going to be comparable to an adult brain and what experience. They won’t be capable of feeling emotion like we do even if it does transmit. I read one actual scientific study which said while we can’t know what a fetus thinks and feels (if anything) , they studied the affect of clinical anxiety and depression on fetal heartrate & found there was a correlation. However they found no link between cortisol (mum stress hormone) and fetus. Basically, I wouldn’t worry about it tooo much , but obvs try to keep stress free as much as poss anyway :-) and I am sorry for the way I came across !!

@Elle yeh I was looking more medically (joys of working in the NHS) obviously, when our heart rate rises through stress or any such thing babies rises with us which of course we all want to avoid. Yeh I’m trying I think yesterday was a bad day for the old hormones! Thanks 😊
