Let my baby cry to sleep

My baby was overtired and I was overstimulated. I normally put her to sleep by breastfeeding, but that wasn’t working. I started getting so overstimulated, so I put her in her crib and just walked away. I could hear her crying and I hated how it made me feel, but I just couldn’t deal with the crying. Eventually she fell asleep and when I went in she was sleeping but sniffling a little. Now I’m just watching her sleep and I feel so bad :( How do I get over this, ugh bc this feeling is so horrid for me

NO omg i’m so glad i saw this post!!!! I did the exact same thing tonight - i’m on my own so i deal with it literally 24/7. I felt so guilty for doing it.

No need to feel guilty! You are only human and some babies just like the sound that their lungs can make. She’s probs just needed a good cry and that’s ok 👍🏼 it’s always better to walk away then to put yourself and your baby in a position where you are both not at your best. Your doing great mama and don’t ever forget it xx

I work for the NHS and it's advised that it's OK if your babies crying a lot, but just make sure you step out for 5 minutes if it does get overwhelming. You did the right thing so I wouldn't feel too bad, it's not like you did it just bc you couldn't be bothered or every single night so don't worry xx
