Ugh

Just feeling so discouraged. I keep seeing all these posts about babies coming early, being at least 1cm dilated or effaced or something and my body is just doing nothing. I'm 39 weeks today and cried when my OB told me nothing was going on down there for me 😭 I'm literally so miserable and as much as I want baby girl to be healthy and safe I also am just so done being pregnant. I know everyone's body and experience is different and that being dilated doesn't really mean much but I was just hoping for something and am feeling very down after this news. Idk I'm probably just being dumb or over emotional or both. Meh.

I’m 35 weeks and trying to do everything in my power to keep my baby in until like 38/39 weeks 😭 I’ve been having preterm signs and I’m just tryna keep her in there for a lil longer 🥲

I’m sorry! I know it can be so discouraging. But something my OB said to me at my last appointment really stuck with me. “You won’t be pregnant forever.” I’m 38w1d and am so over it. I was only 1cm and 20% effaced at 37 weeks and my OB even recommended not even checking yesterday so I didn’t get discouraged haha As much as I’m curious, I’m glad she didn’t because I know I would’ve been still far off. I’m having them do a membrane sweep next week at 39 weeks. Not sure if that’s something you’re open to but it’s kind of a last ditch effort to kickstart things. Maybe look into it and see if that’s something you’d be open to?

Don't stress!! Dilation can mean nothing! You can go into labor any day without prior dilation. Trust your body knows what it's doing! Baby just needs a few more days you got this girl 🤍

@Ariella you got this!! I hope things work out for you and baby 🖤

@Katie it just feels like forever 😅 i don't know if a membrane sweep is something I can do since I'm still completely closed and not effaced at all. I'll have to look into that and maybe bring it up with her! Thank you!

@Taylor I'm trying so hard not to!! Lol. I've just had a very rough pregnancy and needed a little light at the end of the tunnel but what you said is so true! Thank you 🖤

I was offered a cervical check today (37 weeks) and thats exactly why I turned it down! I didn't want to feel discouraged if nothing was happening. Just remember, nothing can be happening and then you can go into labor spontaneously just hours later. Or you can sit at 1-3 centimeters for weeks with nothing happening! But I get you. I'm over pregnancy and ready to meet this girl 😂! They offered me a sweep today and I really wanted to try it, but my son has an event he's been super looking forward to on Sunday, so I turned it down just in case it actually worked 😂 don't want to disappoint my boy 😅

@Grace i originally was on the fence about getting checked but she mentioned maybe having to be induced so she wanted to and i let her. I knew I was going to react either way so eh. Good point though! Hopefully baby girl decides she's ready soon cause I'm super ready to meet her lol. I do not blame you one bit 😅 i probably would have done the same in your shoes!

My last pregnancy I had no symptoms at the end. I went in for a check up and I think she may have swept my membrane or triggered it, because the same day I gave birth. I started getting random contractions later in the day. After leaving I was out walking all day, playing with my son and partner chasing them etc lol by 6:30 pm I was in the ER and by 11:45pm I gave birth… keep active it’ll definitely help just by taking a walk, going up and down the stairs, bending down and back up.

This pregnancy (I am now 37 weeks tomorrow) I’ve been feeling aches and pains for the last week and ughh this sucks it feel like a long drawn out labor I prefer the random right before pains… this dragged out process I feel like is raising my blood pressure lol and the not knowing what day will actually be the day is killing me 😭😭😭🥴😅

I know it’s so hard. I’m about 39 weeks and not dilated or effaced at all. I was so convinced I was gonna have an early baby but now I’m just waiting and trying to be patient lol. Best of luck to u 🩷 they’ll come when they’re ready
