Does your kid or kids have dual citizenship?

Multiple citizenship can be one of the best gifts you can give your child, if possible. Although some countries do not allow it, if you are fortunate to be able to apply for multiple passports.... then this is the sign u have been waiting for. Comment below ...

I am Spanish and my partner is Spanish-Guatemalan. We live in the UK and we had our baby here, he has Spanish and British citizenship now. We will apply for Guatemalan citizenship too if we can when we go there. x

Can you apply for citizenship if your child is only half? E.g. half English half Pakistani?

@Aleena You can apply for their Pakistan Identity cards at Pakistan Embassy, you have to book appointment online and bring all the documents they ask for, they take their own pic for it https://www.phclondon.org/nadra#:~:text=Apply%20for%20this%20card%20if,eligible%20for%20applying%20this%20card.

Not exactly. My kids have UK citizenship and therefore have a UK passport but only have a National Identity card which allows them entry to their fathers country which is Pakistan without a visa, its separate from passport and even their dad has an ID card, one for nationals living overseas as well as a passport and he also has British citizenship and UK passport.

Yes, they have dual Canadian/Algerian citizenship. My husband wants me to also apply for Italian citizenship, as I'm entitled to it, so of that happens they will have triple citizenship.

@Raquel u go mama 🙏🏼🙌🏼💐

@Salma that ia also very good ❤️🌹

@Hessa even better, I know people that have that too.

I myself have dual citizenship and I have done thesame for my baby 🤗🙌🏼🙏🏼💐

@M🍀 I am of mixed nationalities but I don't have anything to use to request other ones and my parents don't either but it's OK as I can go wherever I want to anyways with my British passport as long as visa is granted.

Once our baby arrives, we'll apply for an ID card for the country my husband was born in (he has one and a passport for the UK) and apply for mine. It will mean we won't need a visa to go there but doesn't give us citizenship

I just want to mention, be aware of the laws that might affect them when they become adults with dual citizenship. My brother and I both have the option to have Canada and US citizenship (we're Canadian, born and raised but our mum is American) but if we do, even though we've never worked or lived in the USA we'd have to pay the USA taxes every year. Also, some places have odd laws. Until a few years ago, my brother and I were considered Second Class Citizens in Canada because we were eligible for citizenship elsewhere, meaning if we had somehow been arrested or suspected of terrorism, or convicted in another country of terrorism (the example often used was journalists who were in other countries reporting on human rights issues), we could have had our citizenship stripped and been deported to a country we didn't know. It made me afraid to go to protests and marches of causes I supported in case they became violent or had a counter protest show up and cause trouble.

I wanted to because I was born in france but belgian citizen but I have to get a visa to get a belgian passport again but im Canadian citizen since 2008 I moved here from DR congo where my dad is from I lived there for 1 year
