Looks like baby could be coming sooner than I thought!

I’m 36 weeks and I was getting intense braxton hicks last night and I went to the toilet and I lost my plug in two bits and I’ve been having mild period-like cramps since. I called maternity triage because I was concerned because I’m 36 weeks but I was reassured and told it’s all normal at this point and I just need to sit and wait for things to progress now….it could be days it could be a couple more weeks who knows but my son is on his way! Excited and scared all at once, have any of you had a baby at 36 weeks and we’re they healthy or did they have a stay in the NICU tell me your experience

This was my sister at like 32 weeks…. But baby was 10 days overdue. It could mean everything, or nothing. You could meet him today or you could meet him in a month. Who knows! Fingers crossed for you though ❤️

My son was born at 38 weeks so a little further along than you and was healthy with no NICU stay. I’ve just hit 37 weeks and also have been cramping and losing mucus discharge and just found out I’m 2cm, but have been reassured that this doesn’t mean baby will be born any time soon. Try to relax! These symptoms can last quite a few weeks and are expected again 36w so doesn’t mean labour is near 🤍

@Becca can I ask how people know that they’re dilated already?? 🙈 do you have to go for an appointment and the midwife checks or how do you know? X

@Dana I was in triage yesterday for some brown discharge and suspected bleeding so they did a cervical exam! I believe they don’t start checking for dilation until you’re 39 weeks or having sweeps 💗

@Becca ah thank you for that! Hope everything’s okay with you though?! 🤗💗 so there’s no way you can check/tell yourself at home? Because I’m just curious to know whether I’m dilated at all or not 😬

@Dana yes we are both fine thank you! I’m a student midwife so did actually try to check my cervix myself 😂 but tbh it’s hard when you don’t know what you’re feeling for and I had no idea what I was feeling 😂

@Becca glad to hear it ☺️ yeah that makes sense! Thanks for your help!

I had the exact same thing today! Though im 38 weeks! Best of luck to you xx

My baby came bang on 36 weeks and we had to stay in the TCU Unit as she had Jaundice and needed an NG Tube due to not feeding properly. We were there for a week then discharged and she didn't need a tube for long😊xx

I’m currently 36+1 and my waters broke at 2pm😭 I’ve been admitted and hoping to go into labour soon🤞🏻

@Lauren I know that’s where the nerves are setting in because you just never know, I could go overdue for all I know 😆 thank you❤️

@Trudy-lea you got this ❤️

@Becca yep that’s exactly what the midwives were saying just relax and let what happens happen, good luck to you and your little one!!🤍

@Yasmin oooo how exciting!! Hopefully not long left until you meet your little one, good luck!! 💗

@Jessica that’s reassuring! A week is not long to wait for you baby’s health I’m glad she recovered so quick! I’m hoping if he does come soon my boy doesn’t need much intervention either xx

@Mia OMG AHHH!! How exciting for you, I really hope everything goes smoothly for you and your little one!!💕

35 weeks and the Braxton Hicks have been INTENSE today! I've not had them before so was always worried that I wouldn't understand what I was feeling but nope. That wasn't labour and it was definitely something 😂

I had my little girl at 36+2. She’s absolutely fine. She had to have anti biotics cause my waters went 2 days before she came & it’s very very common for jaundice at that age too. So they might need phototherapy. But she’s happy healthy and we are home after 2 days in hospital x
