First Christmas? Or not?

So my little girl was born on 22nd. 3 days before Xmas. Is it acceptable that I want to buy things that say my first Christmas 🤣 People keep saying “well it’s not is it” 🤦🏽‍♀️ She was literally born on the 22nd and we got home with her at 6pm on the 24th. I wouldn’t say she really knew it was Christmas do you? 🤣

I mean by that logic she still wont know its Christmas 😂 If someone was to ask me I would say its not their first christmas but dont let anyone put you off, do whatever you want to do!! My baby was a few days after christmas but obviously the tree was up and everything, usually its little tiny babies in those outfits, I feel like mine will look like a toddler 😂 Celebrate exactly as you want to!! ❤️

Same thing happened with us and I will be doing my first Christmas this year x

Mine is the 22nd too! I haven't got anything yet but each time I see those kinds of things I feel like it is kind of the first proper one, we were still in hospital most of Christmas Day and hadn't decorated or anything because I was in from the 15th I think it isn't technically the first she was alive for but I don't think that's for anyone to try and say to you when you haven't asked their opinion. And it's the first she can join in with so same as CeeCee says, it's about what works for you :)

My little girl is 23rd December and stayed in NICU for 10 days so we missed Christmas and New Year’s Eve so I want to make this year the best - so yes I’ve already started purchasing! Got to even out bday and Christmas now 🤣

My daughter was born on the 20th dec :)

Well if you want to do it, do it My little one was born on Christmas and I'm so proud of her that I call her birth her first Christmas because it's special. We spent the day at hospital with her sleeping, had an argument on the way home, went to bed early and everything, but it's still special to me that she was born on that day

This popped up just as I was looking for baby Christmas presents wondering the exact same thing 😂 my boy was born 13th of December and I’m kind of considering this his first Christmas as he was literally a little blob the first time round 😂(very cute little blob, but a blob nonetheless😂) whereas now he still may not know what’s going on but he’s obviously a lot more aware and he’s interacting and he’ll enjoy all the lights and decorations, and you can do a lot more festive activities with them at this age too so I think it’s each to their own really but I’m considering this at least his first proper Christmas! Even doing him a little Christmas Eve box, suitable for a baby obviously and not going overboard but I want it to be a tradition from now that he has his box filled every Christmas Eve with little goodies! 😌

I totally get what you mean! It feels like the first Christmas because last year I was still in the post birth baby blues and just felt horrible. It was a really miserable Christmas for me so I really want to celebrate this year. It feels like his first Christmas.

@Harriet Rose yes totally agree. I’d just pushed a baby out and was in so much pain. Wasn’t really Christmas in my eyes. And had the midwife round so felt even less like Christmas 🤣

My boy was born on 24th dec last year. Even though we were in hospital last Christmas - to me last year was his 1st Christmas 🎄

So its not her first christmas but im of the opinion that in 20 years time and youre looking through her baby box and see her first christmas bits youre not really gonna remember/care? So if you want to i think just do it! Who cares what others say!

Also baby will change so much each year now that it kind of is first christmas every year! First christmas theyre born, first christmas they can play, first christmas they understand its christmas etc. xx

My little boy was born Christmas day last year in the evening so I am classing this Christmas as his first. X
