Does having GD turn your Pregnancy into a high risk Pregnancy?

I just got diagnosed and I was wondering if now I’m considered high risk or not. A friend of mine says I am.

Yes, especially if your glucose numbers aren’t controlled.

Yes but then all depends on if your diet controlled or not c

Yes I have this and mines dietcintrolled and they still say I'm high risk

Okay, I see. That is probably why I have to meet with the nutritionist

Yep I had such a smooth pregnancy being low risk. Got diagnosed last week at 28 weeks and BAM! I'm swimming in extra appointments and high risk in red all over my pregnancy notes. It's lovely. (I'm in UK so maybe different)

@Beverly I think everyone or most diagnosed with GD see a nutritionist. It’s a helpful tool with managing your diet and sugars. Don’t worry too much. 💕 if anything, you may be able to see your baby more, lol.

Yes - you’re also automatically high risk if you’re over 35 even if you’re super healthy.

@Jill okay I heard that. I’m 33 so not there yet. I heard it’s a geriatric pregnancy if the woman is 35+. I think that’s ridiculous and should start at 40 instead. To me that makes more sense.

@Lyndsey well I’d love to see her more that’s for sure lol

I’m Australia you are automatically considered high risk with GD

I had GD and was still considered low risk and was able to give birth at a birth center. Only high risk of uncontrolled or need meds

Yes xx

@Alisa did you start your care there from the beginning of your pregnancy?

@Beverly yes I did

Yes, doesnt mean you cant still have a normal pregnancy though as long as numbers are controlled xx
