My son was super scared and hesitant to poop too even when he had peeing down. I read him books too, but honestly I think it’s just time. It took him about two maybe even three weeks to feel ok with pooping. I realized my son wanted privacy and preferred to poop on the toilet instead of the potty. You can put him on the toilet (I got a little ladder seat adjustment thing for the toilet) and maybe say you’ll be right back yiu just have to check on the food lol i don’t know make something up.. and see if what he needs is privacy. The oh crap potty training book has a whole chapter on poop and how to trouble shoot For my guy, privacy and the toilet worked
Have you tried rewards for going on the potty? #1 jellybean , #2 a little bigger treat.

I'm in the same boat. She's doing pretty good with #1. She hasn't understood yet that we do both in the potty.
